Gigabyte goes mobile with the gX5 and the gSmart Pocket PC Phone

Gigabyte gSmart

Gigabyte isn't exactly a well-known consumer brand (at least not over here), but after years of focusing mainly on PCs and PC components apparently they've gotten tired of waiting for the siren's call and have decided to dive headfirst into the cellphone market. First up is the gX5, a tri-band GSM/GPRS (900/1800/1900, which means it's not for the US market) handset that comes with a 2-inch, 262,000 color LCD, a 1.3 megapixel camera, a miniSD card slot, and some sort of "motion detector" (it's not clear exactly what is meant by that). The other new phone is the gSmart (pictured above), a tri-band GSM/GPRS (also 900/1800/1900) Windows Mobile-powered Pocket PC Phone that sports a slide-down keypad, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 2.1 megapixel camera, 2.4-inch, 262,000 color LCD touch screen, FM radion, TV tuner, and a miniSD card slot.
