Alright, not only did those leaked pics of Nokia's new two
megapixel musicphone turn out to be legit, they actually introduced the phone today, which was way sooner than we'd
anticipated. The Nokia N91 is part of Nokia's new media-centric N series, and apparently they're throwing down against
Motorola, Sony Ericsson, and Samsung and putting a 4GB hard drive in there, an industry standard 3.5mm headphone jack,
support for playback of MP3, M4A, AAC, and WMA audio files, and USB 2.0 so you can just drag and drop your files over
from your PC. Better still, the N91 has 3G (WCDMA) and both built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. Should be out sometime around
the end of the year.

the model is a rip of an older nokia, do you remember the silver-white nokia with the center rotating dial, it had a button on the back where you press to reveal the keypad? it came out after the matrix?? it was very bulky, very ugly.. yes this seems like a deja vu - but upgraded! .. stainless is nice, but i would have love to see some of that VERTU sleekness in it..
another problem, there doesnt seem like there is room for an MMC reader in it,, bugger! MMCs are coming out with 3, 4, 5, even 6 gigs of space.. and i want to be the one who says suck on my 10 gig nokia,, eat dirt ipod!,, what, cant italk,, say my name, louder !@#$%

What OS will this smartphone have? And will it sync with Outlook 2003? How does it compare to the Samsung SGH-i300? When is the offical launch?
n91 will have symbian series 60 OS afiak. and it will be able to sync with outlook 2003.
as for its comparison with samsung sgh-i300 tbh ive no idea, havent looked at the samsung, been too excited about the release of n91 :P
last thing i read from nokia was that thelaunch wont be till q1 '06!

I've been looking everywhere for this fone, its amazing! The general opinion is that it will be a Q1 2006 release in the UK (probably means summer time judging normal Nokia estimates!),
have been looking on ebay tho and found it for as little as 160 (buy it now), which isn't bad!

i want this foneeee, but it aint gt sum features dat i hoped 4 such as no mmc/sd slot, no flash, no shutter (wanna protect the 2mp beuty) anddd no second cam 4 video calling. Dont kno shall i still consider wot do you guys think
If you want to impress your friends with gagets, then yes Nokia has used the latest technology to cram several mediocre periferals into one package
If you needed a really good dedicated cellular - this probably wouldn't be it.
If you needed a decent digital camera - this definately is a waste of time.
If you absolutely need to carry around your entire music collection - I guess there might be room (hopefully you have a back-up somewhere so why do you need everything)
My personal preference is individual components that actually work well enough to be of practical use. There isn' a consumer multi-functional cellular on the market that's there yet - but hey - it's a business, and consumers are so naive.

Even I already have a ipod photo, I can't wait to get my hands on this awesome model wit a 4 gb music player+fone. 4Gb, 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, USB mass storage, 2mp camera and finally symbian 9.0 my god!!!
The best thing about it is that it's a Symbian phone, so there will be add on apps to support OGG, FLAC and any other open codec i give it a 7 / 7 ... just cant wait to get my handing on this cool babe

For me it's either this phone or the W900, but I'm leaning in this direction. Working for Cingular, I have become a huge Nokia fan, but Sony Ericsson is good as well. I just don't think you can beat four gigabytes of internal memory in a phone for camera and music usage. Oh and for those worried about battery life - the Sony Ericsson has W series has around 30 hours of battery life so I think Nokia will stay competitive.
If this phone had PDA features it would be the end all be all of the media world, period.
Battery time folks? Figures below given by Nokia on their website and as a Nokia user since 1995, I can tell you they do not lie too much... It should +/- 30 minutes.
Standby time: up to 190 hours (7 days)*
Talk time: up to 3-4 hours*
Battery: BL-5C, 970, mAh, Li-Ion
If that turns true, this phone is a killer! And do not compare it with an Ipod, that remains a phone with great enhancements! If you go on comparing, I'll tell you "try to give a phone call or take a 2 megapixels picture with your Ipod Mini!!".
It's got a lot of good functions, but it fails for a 3G phone...
