LG busts out 'Can U' HS8000 phone with 2.6-inch LCD
Awww, LG, you're at it again. No one can resist a phone named 'Can U,' especially when it's got a 2.6-inch QVGA TFT
LCD, 2 megapixel CCD, MP3 player, mobile banking, 3D stereo dual speaker, MPEG4 video up to 15fps, internal 512MB
SDRAM/1G NAND Flash and 1GB miniSD slot for extra storage. The camera itself sports 5x digital zoom, auto focus,
anti-shake, wide shooting and self-shooting features. But secretly — the ulterior motive for writing about this phone?
It's yellow!
[Thanks, kazi]

Sadly enough, I guess we wouldn't see this phone in
North America. This really does suck! Why don't we get
any of the nice phones? I have no qualms about spending
$500 for a phone with all the gadgets. I have a razr and a S.E.
710a and I need more!!
Hey isnt that the same phone from CASIO KDDI in Japan?
And it must be cdma so it would work in the USA and not in gsmland.
Sure is the same casing as the Casio KDDI, that’s funny.
Nice phone. Phones here are teh suck.
Dammmmit, I hate how all US-market phones are so dumbed down, when 2.4" LCD are the standard on KDDI and NTT in Japan (as one example). Arrrrgh!
One thing nobody mentions about Japanese or Korean phones these days is that they are generally huge. It didn't used to be this way (even 4-5 years ago tiny phones were "in" there), but modern Asian phones are often quite large and heavy. This one seems no exception.
I'm not saying our phones are better - I whine about how backward and behind we are as much as anybody - just playing devil's advocate a little bit. There is a price for having a 2.6" screen on a phone.
I usually just blow past any cell phone posts. I don't have one and don't really need one (the place I work for disallows them for security reasons, so a fat lot of good one would do me if I can't have it for 90% of the time I'm away from the house). But that phone is hot.
The US needs to split up into small countries covering smaller geographic areas... so that running a new kind of network across the entire country is as easy here as it is in Japan. Damn us and our expansive geography!
will it be GSM 1900? cuz if so its just a matter of having an unlocked phone and service from cingular or t-mobile... i would def buy this thing it worked in the US
no, it's available in Korea. so it should be CDMA.. cingular or t-mobile is GSM.. it's not compatible
