Sony's Micro Vault Pro 5GB
Sony's Micro Vault Pro line isn't brand spankin' new (in fact, 1-inch drive based striaght-USB drives have
been around
a little while now), but we wouldn't
exactly say no to their new(ish) 5GB version, which goes for about $230 US nowadays. Just thought we'd let you know
it's kickin' around, you know, because it's so dandy-hot.

cool, another thing to rip out my usb ports. give it to me on a leash (6 inches?) and id tihnk about it. could even make the cable retractable like a vaccuum cleaner.
I think I'd prefer a 6gb ipod mini with the cable. It's only $20 more and I can listen to my music too. This is smaller than the mini, but I've got limited pocket space. Same reason, I'd jump on a phone/HD music player when they come out.
Wow all Sony needs to do it put an MP3 chip in there - forget a screen, and they have a...... wait...forget it.
Nice, but I think I'll wait for SanDisk’s 8GB Cruzer Mini USB flash drive:

May be pricy, but it'll come down eventually! They all do! My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS80, sold to me by an in store product specialist. So you'll forgive me if I'm happy with waiting. I've found good things come to the patient.
If you MUST HAVE a portable hard drive NOW, go with LaCie's portable 100GB, bus powered drive for $279 on their website...
This is nice, or one could pop into Radioshack for the cheap(ly built), 4gb USmodular USB drive for about $150. Measures about 2"x3". If you just had to have a little-big USB drive right now.
I just bought a 4 GB MicroDrive for my Sony F-828. Who needs a portable vault =P
Wouldn't you really rather have 40GB for $200?
