sesitive_man, my father died of cancer, so I understand what you're going through. What I said was half straight humor, half sarcasm at the marketing behind these campaings. To spell it out a bit, Roombas don't "fight cancer" and a 60 mile hike won't "end cancer", they simply raise funds for cancer research, just that and nothing else.

No matter, I won't apologize for my joke, because there's /nothing/ wrong with it, just like there's /nothing/ wrong with your rant. Peace, I hope your wife gets well and you laugh again soon, and I hope governments start funding scientific research more and militaries less.
