The iRiver T10
All we had before were some leaked specs and cruddy illo pulled from a presentation, but iRiver has finally launched the T10, a new wearable flash-based MP3 player with a 1.1-inch, 64,000 color LCD screen that comes complete with a clip so you can attach the player to your belt or bag or wear it around your neck like a pendant. Comes in three fruity flavors: Lime Green (256MB), Cherry Red (512MB), and Orange Yellow (1GB). Also has a built-in FM tuner, support for playback of WMA, OGG, and MP3 audio files, and a battery life of as long as 53 hours. Goes on sale in South Korea on May 20th, no word on when it'll drop over here, but it probably won't be more than a few months.

W00t! First comment!: teh The iRiver T10 tis l33t
it looks cool enough but why do they always take photos of people wearing it without the earphones connected?
any word on when it goes on sale in north korea?
Orange Yellow? That must be one interesting colour...
Do people really still buy 256MB MP3 players?
sounds promising if the prince is good
I will never purchase a flash DAP that doesn't have a dock or builtin USB connector.
Am I the only one who hates cables or what?
why do these companies keep making more and more identical products which a limited amount of people buy? are they really money makers? it seems so retarded.
I wonder why don't other mp3 player makers support unencrypted AAC-- it's much more efficient. Anyone? Beuller?
At first sight I thought that this new i-River had 5 jack sound out ^^ !
Syinidal, I wonder the same thing. It seems like the 2nd tier players (Creative, iRiver, etc...) release a new line every 3 months. A little better but similar looking, hardly different features... It seems they think they'll make a splash or something, but they just end up in a back aisle of CompUSA.
boss sauce, because they are cheap and suckers for the notion that 98% of the people can play wma; therefore, it must be the codec to support.
i agree, why the hell bother with 256. can anyone explain this to me? at all? wouldnt you be able to lower the cost of the other two sizes (512, 1gb) by removing the option of a 256 (less overhead)? i cant think of an instance where it makes sense, especialy when 512 is never that much more.
I know whenever I see an Orange I think, "Ah yes, that thing there is Yellow!"
Looks like an electric razor
Why even include any built-in memory? Re-design this player with an SD-card slot and then everybody's happy. Of course Iriver probably still needs to get their ass in gear by bringing back UMS-compliancy to their players.
The reason why companies continue to make flash-based players is obvious: they sell well. An overwhelming majority of DAP sales in Asian markets are small-capacity flash players. When I was in Korea, I saw 5-year-olds with them.
There is still a market for such players in other areas (U.S., Europe), although that market is not as expansive as in Asia.
Nobody was questioning as to why flash players specifically are still being produced. Hell, flash players are the only kind I'm even interested in. A hard drive player would crap out after the first 25 or so minutes that I use it. You can't run and listen to a HD-based player for very long, the HD will start malfunctioning.
i really like it, and i like the design-the look of the player. but the player seems really identical to the ifp 7xx series, in design and in the in of the player-the software.i wonder(just like you) why do they make this. arent there more options they could make or are they just lazy?
I notice this one has SRS WOW, which the 7xx doesn't, can't really see much difference than that, except for the funky colors and shape.

Also the color screen is new.
