No controller was shown. So even though the box looks a lot like the one leaked over the weekend, the accompanying controllers were not presented. So was it a leak, or a really good guess?

I'll have to agree, but in a less - "I'm Gene Shallot Now - Bye," sort of tone. X-box, despite it's online omni-presence of fans, really has a hard time delivering in the way of great, great games. The main problem for me derives in the fact that they lack a base of games that have - A) Incredible origionality and B) Epic feel.
Games such as Animal Crossing, seem to reinvent what fun is. In most cases I don't see many people liking the idea of running around, doing basically the same thing, each and every day they play, but Nintendo has made this fun - incredibly fun. Then there is the Konga based games. They're amazingly fun, and inovative, and it is this spur towards origionality which keeps alot of buyers coming back.
Then on the other spectrum we have the legecy titles, where simply thinking of their name brings one into thinking about their amazingness, and stand in awe of what the games have done for us. Playstation has it's cultastically loyal group of Final Fantasy fans. I don't like Final Fantasy past number 4 (american numbering), but I do understand the feeling that it gives people when they really get into the story line. Another example, except on the Nintendo side, is the Zelda series. Pixelated 8-bit, 2D 16-bit, 3D 64-bit, cell shaded, beautifully rendered - who cares how you've experienced link over the years, the games continually leave you feeling as if your part of an epic journey; and will continually drive their market of games well into the future.
Two of my friends came over this weekend, one in the hardcore stratusfear of gaming, the other in the more, "If it looks pretty - buy it!" sector. Asking my more hardcore friend what where some must own titles for the PS2, he quickly replied with a good slew of them (FFX, Dynasty Warriors, to name a few). Then what were some must haves for Gamecube, even more came out - animal crossing, harvest moon, smash brothers, windwaker, resident evil 4, ect. Then finally, the great test of them all; what are the must owns for X-Box? First he said, "Halo." Then he stopped for a second, proceeded to say, "um...Halo...." Then managed to mention, "Fable." Now, for the Xbox fans, "Halo 2," may be on the list as well, but I think for the true gamers it's not as fun, nor well built as the first one.
Xbox manages to stick around and stay kicking because of it's dependency upon Halo, and the oh-so-touted Xbox live. I persoanlly can't stand Halo. It's mainly for one reason - you only get to use two guns at a time. When I talk to fans of Halo I hear a lot about it's realism of this system, and how it makes a game better. Well, if the game is so great, and this is all so real, then where does the rocket launcher go when I'm holding my sniper rifle? It certainly doensn't go on my back. It doesn't get freezer dried and air locked in a little, "just add water," baggy. And it certainly doesn't go down my trousers. For a system so, "real," the fact that your secondary weapon vanashes into thin air is pretty lame. Since you can't see the weapon, why not make it like any good fast pased game (UT2004) and give out all the weapons?
Seeing past my own bias though, I will have to say that Halo is a good game, but sadly it's one of the only good games that is xbox esclusively. They need to stop their reliance upon Bungi and start some serious work on building up a third party structure that is willing, and wanting, to work towards giving them exclusive titles. Until then I truly belive that majority of great, not just good, games will only appear on the PS3 and the Revolution.
I'm not sure why everyone is so upset about Nintendo not going with HD games. I have had an HDTV for 5 years now but even I will admit that it's a little premature for games. Most TV shows will still broadcast in analog for a few more years. There still isn't a true HD format yet for these TVs (1st it was 720p, then 1080i, now 1080p,). The disks format is still up in the air as well. Let's not all freak out when Nintendo says they're not going HD yet cuz a lot of you out there still don't know enough about it. That takes gaming to a very expensive level (hardware and software) and we don't need it to go there. Can't we all just play games?
I'll tell you a couple of things that do bother me a little bit. If you do an advanced search on IGN for the XBOX 360 and Revolution, you'll find there are maybe 4 times as many titles for 360 then there are Revolution. My first thought was that it's because Microsoft's next console comes out in a matter of months rather than late 2006. Then I look up PS3 and they have just as many titles listed as Microsoft although they are also supposed to release mid to late 2006. I know they are keeping a lot secret and many developers still don't know all about the system, and that's the second thing that bothers me. I don't care how you look at it, I think Nintendo is releasing the Revolution way too late. Releasing the console 3rd in itself is just not an aggressive enough move for me to believe they really want to contend. Still seems like some of that arrogance hasn't worn off yet. They don't like being third this generation and to start out so slow with info this "take it or leave it" attitude has me a little concerned. The fact of the matter is, although I will continue to buy Nintendo consoles, I'll probably also have to buy a second console to fill the holes that come with a Nintendo lineup. Nintendo should be the reason that I don't buy a Playstation, not the reason that I do. Ho hum.
Believe it or not, a majority of people will own an HDTV by the year 2009. And, most people who spend expendable income on games and game consoles will own an HDTV by 2008. Common sense dictates that if a consumer is going to purchase a console, they will purchse one that supports their tv. I can't honestly convince myself that this console has a shelf life of more than 2 years from it's release date. I also get the feeling that Nintendo believes this too given the relatively cheap (compared to Xbox and PS3) components they are building it with. You have to wonder if the 3rd party developers feel the same way and when you don't have them, you don't have a system. I know the games make the system, so if the system doesn't support the customer, the developers aren't going to support the system with games.
My prediction is that 4 years from now the Nintendo console will be dead like the Dreamcast. The real Nintendo Revolution will be when they decide port all of their franchises to the Xbox (hardware similarites and CA$H being the impetus). The console market has NEVER been able to support 3 consoles profitably (Microsoft so far has lost money on the Xbox, and I assume Nintendo and Sony have profitted). Any market analyst I've heard has stated that the Xbox and PS will have 30-40% market share with the Nintendo around 10% (only US figures) and the rest from handhelds by the year 2009. Hardly seems very profitable for Nintendo when they can increase their market base by 400% by moving their games onto a new platform. Maybe that's why they don't need to support High Def television, since they don't plan on being in the console market in the next 4 years when high def is the standard.
Once again, Nintendo said they wouldn't support HD (currently 1080p), but they didn't say they wouldn't do 480p which is really all you need if you have a TV with a progressive scan input. Yes, 1080P looks much nicer but I still think it's too early. Did you know that there are still a good number of homes in the U.S. who don't even own a TV still (funny stats you can find on the internet)let along an HDTV? I have to admit though, that if pretty much all their games don't run on at least progressive scan, I will be pretty upset myself. You say the market cannot support 3 consoles right? I think there is more than one market now though. You've got the casual gamer (who are really ruining this industry)the hardcore gamer, the kids, the adults, and even more girls now who are playing video games. Honestly, although I love video games, I do not consider myself in the same market as some of these teens who purchase GTA just so they can be cool at school (and never spend much time actually playing the game). See my point? We may both play games but we're in two WAAAY different markets. And think about this...
Nintendo has been around for over 20 years (not Sega, not Atari,) so I think your "4 year plan " may be a little soon. And if the market cannot support 3 consoles, who's to say Nintendo quietly makes it's money while Microsoft puts Sony away slowly. Then we'd have two again.
Bottom line. If Nintendo were forced out of the market, I say video games as a whole lose their luster and the industry goes under within 8 years (happened before). You lose a competitor and you will also eventually lose the casual gamer because casual implies "fad". Video games need Nintendo whether you like them or not. Thanks for your time.
Common knowledge also would dictate that a user who buys a Revolution would also understand that, even if it's not in HD, it will still support their TV. Sure, it may not suppor the HD side of things, but that in the long run of things may end up not mattering.
Games are not messured by how they look. If that was all that mattered then we might as well just throw our hands up in the air crying out, "Wilst you not just give us pre-rendered games! Why for not do we have cut-scenes for every scene!!!!"
Games, nor systems, are not to be deduced to the simplistic level of how they look. As I've stated many a times, in many a places, a true gamer doesn't base there favorite games off of pure graphical objectivity, or else the only games we could ever love would only be available on the latest systems.
To be a good system you must have a steady flow of great games we will remember far down the road from now. This is why I belive that the greatest systems ever were the SNES and the Playstation. The roots of almost all great games link back to these two systems, both full of origionality and incredible game play values.
In ten years if you were to look back and try to name the great games of your life up to the point I can't see many people mentioning many from the X-Box despite it's full rounded shelf life. There is Halo, and there is Halo 2, and even Halo 2 isn't that great. It's simple; the games make the system, the system does not make the games.
Not supporting HD is smart for the next 3-4 years because hardly anyone has them and Xbox and Ps3 games will look a lot worse on a regular tv than an HD, meaning that graphically, only the 10% of people that have HDTVs will get the benefit. When HDs do become standard, Nintendo can just make an internal add-on to support HD and change the development kits to include HD support, or they can release a new version of their console that supports HD .
I never thought of it that way Pennmaster. Since PS3 and 360 are geared toward HD, and so few people have HDTVs, they won't get the full potential from their system. Therefore, the Revolution won't seem so distant visually from the other two. And if Nintendo opts for progressive scan 480P they'll be right there.
Your assertions are correct about the visual differences between the 3 on standard TVs where they will all appear similar. Obviously the biggest difference is when you get to the standard HD sets (720p/1080i) and then the true HD sets (1080p). Nintendo won't be able to support the high def market because 1) games aren't going to magically appear in HD quality all of a sudden 2) if it's not supported at the outset of a console it won't be (PS2 hard drive anyone?). The fact is (according to market analysts who generally know what they are speaking about) that a majority of houses by the end of 2008 will have HD sets (especially those who are spending their expendable income on video games). What other market is more likely to spend their money on an HD set? So the fact remains, 3 years from now your Nintendo games will appear very obsolete.
On to the games. I love Nintendo (they've been around for over 100 years), because as Wonderflux says everywhere, they make the best games. I hated the Gamecube because the controller was too small for my hands (yes, I actually like the original Xbox controller; just call me Shrek) and it had no online play (still play with my college friends across the country). I still play Mario Cart with my in-laws at parties. Bond used to be great, but is so inferior now to Halo that it was unanimously replaced. Sorry about the rambling, and on to the point: Nintendo would profit enormously by "partnering" with $ony or M$, but I know they insist that it's not about the money rather the games. They should stay in the handheld market, since eventually that's probably where most gaming revenues will be coming from (I can't imagine plugging myself into a console to play games for the next 20 years). They aren't making money by selling consoles, so why bother. Leverage the infrastructure of the biggies and continue making fantastic games. To nostradamus, it's obvious that this is the path they will be taking and are probably internally planning on taking.
For starters, Nintendo makes great money:
http://nintendoinsider.com/site/EEEZuAypVuTuOJPzyb.php
For seconds, IMHO, the gamecube has sexy controlers. They are nice to just hold. In fact I find myself holding one pretty much all day long. As I type this up at work I have a controler held within my feet. When I'm done typing I'll resume holding it in my hands as I read this Hary Potter book. Then when I'm done reading I'll just sit here and stare at the wall as I hold it. It's rather fun, especially if you imagine that you're playing a Virtual Boy at the same time.
And lastly I'll go on a stand for the stupidest debate topic I've ever seen. Bond verses Halo. What in the world is up with that? That's like saying, "Man, that staircase is really great fun, but it's nothing compared to that escalator." Of course Halo is going to seem better to you in comparison to Bond, it's prettier, more streamlined, and has the horridly realistic action of, oh my goodness - only caring two guns! So great! Suguoi! Classic Bond on the 64 is way up there on the great games list, and it's definately above Halo. Perfect Dark though, on the other hand, is even higher up on that list.
Thanks for the link Wonderflux. Again, this is my point which if you extrapolate what is happening, you will actually end up with the counter point to his (that Nintendo is going the way of Sega).
Here are some facts:
Nintendo knows how to make a profit (mostly 1st party titles, actual hardware profit instead of loss, and 3rd party royalty fees).
Their president has stated that they can not compete in the console arms race.
Nintendo lost badly to the PS2 and even the Xbox in the last console war, despite having better graphics than the PS2, and better games than both consoles combined (opinion, but probably not far from the truth).
The Revolution is not even in the ball park as far as power goes compared to the 360 and PS3. Probably because they want to turn a profit on it however slight.
When I put this all together, I see Nintendo not wanting to bail out of the console market, but realizing that it can not compete from a market share perspective. So, they release a console for 2 years which is about the shelf life of the Revolution's technology. Then they partner with Microsoft (most logical choice given the hardware similarities) and release games for that platform. The other option is to plug onward continually losing market share (yet still making money because of the 1st party titles). Eventually when their marketshare is small enough and their technology outdated, the 3rd party developers will stop paying the royalty fees and leave, and they could probably continue selling consoles and making money, although not very much of it. But, there is 1 major problem. They are a publicly traded company and therefore are always pressured to produce maximum profits. Nintendo won't make enough on the console hardware to continue to produce it when they can make so much more money moving their games onto $ony/M$ console hardware and selling them there with the much larger console install base. The beauty here is that the Nintendo fan base will still be happy, because you'll be able to download a Revolution emulator/patch to the 360 hard drive (right next to the Xbox emulator/patch for the old games) and plug in an adapter for your Revolution controller into the USB port.
Nintendo couldn't make there games on other systems though. Nintendo racks in the money on their games simply because of the fact that they don't have to pay any of their game share with another company to be on their system. It's a sure fire profit machine. And as well they wouldn't have the creative freedom on another system. I highly doubt any respectable, "adult," system would allow Nintendo to pump out such, "childish," games such as Windwaker, or Donkey Konga (both, by the way, amazing games).
Nostradamus; meh, more like the old prophet in I Kings 13.
Wonderflex, come now. You don't think Microsoft would want Nintendo's franchises on their system (hello Japanese market?). I also don't think that Microsoft would "force" a game style or type onto a company like Nintendo (or any company for that matter). Microsoft seems to be more into purchasing game rights to be exclusive (i.e. Halo and Perfect Dark Zero) than into buying game development companies and forcing them to produce "adult" games. Finally, come summer of 2008 when Nintendo has sold 5 million units, and PS2 and 360 have sold 25 million units apiece (or about those ratios), the prophecy will be fulfilled. The Revolution goes to Xbox.
I may be an old prophet (compared to most of the fanboys around here), but I assure you I am not trying to lead you astray.
On a different note, have you ever played Zork Zero? All of this cinematic-graphic talk reminded me of that game. I think it was the first game (Myst style adventure game and first Zork game with graphics) that embedded actual cinema cut scenes into the scenerary/game that you would interact with. Pretty amazing given that it's 10-15 years old.
Not Zork Zero (that was Infocom's last text based Zork game), but rather Return to Zork by Activision (they had bought Infocom). I don't think I ever played Zork Zero, but for some reason that name stuck in my head ... must have been the alliteration. I remember the first 3 Zork I-III, but it was nice to have graphics.
The Revolution is surely going to be a huge hit. Remember not everything is about power. Nintendo has been making games way before Sony and MS, so they have more experience I would say. All of you saying that it's ugly well I would say it's really not about how ugly or how sleek it looks like, but how the games are, how much experience the makers have, and how good the graphics will be. The controllers are going to be awesome from what I heard. So all of you Nintendo haters should watch out, the Revolution isn't being called Revolution for nothing. The controllers aren't everything either, the ps3 controller should looks like a lesbian sex toy, but it was most probably made that way to enhance your game performance. By my opinions and reading stuff online about the three consoles I say I'm most likely to get ps3, because of the high detailed graphics. Plus my mom said she would get me one if I get all A's on my report card. Lol ^_^
Hopefully he's not sending us on some wild goose chase.
I really don't see how there can be anything on that page.
IF there were footsteps ahead of the white rabbit, wouldn't that indicate that the white rabbit is following something else or going to and from it's 'rabbit hole'?
The words "Nintendo RevPatentLeker Returns" are also "ahead" of the rabbit. Maybe the 'rabbit hole' is some new page on the RevPatentLeaker site, or maybe the incorrect spelling of Leaker means something.
if you change WHAT to encoding or unicode? Dakara - ive already tried different variations of usernames and passwords (if that is what you were going to try) - the easiest way to figure the username and password(IF we have every combination, and information, and IF the code is a username and password) is to type the different things we've figured out in the "forgotten password?" area - if you try everything related to this in there (for example "white rabbit") then if the username exists, it will let you know. then all you have to do is try the remaining info that didnt work (as the username) as the password, until you figure out the combination.
PLEASE NOTE: i dont think that this is what the code/information is supposed to be used for; there are too many variables to consider - and there are also different paths that could easily appear after much thought on this subject.
Therefore i would like 'a friend' to point us in the right direction; please mate i think that if we were just eased in the right direction, then we could figure out everything from there. we are not incompitent; it's just that there are so many variables to consider, with nothing to compare them with for validity.
i think, by tracking this forum, you know how devoted we are about this, and that we are not willing to give up - any help at all will do. thanks.
Dakara - i still think that you should take a look at that bluluminoth site, and compare it with 'a friend' s post(on following the white rabbit* ...and about the re-apearence* ) as i think that you are the best person to do so. the post numbers that i am interested in are;
1324 and
1328
just focus on the 'following' part and the 're-appearence' part, what i mean by all this i have posted in my post above (1422) - can you give it a try please?
i really think that this whole mystery thing has brought us closer together, and i think that we are starting to work as a team. but the thing is that it's also got to the stage where we need to chat and exchange our ideas -- and you cannot do that by posting (it's just not practicle, nor intuitive) mabye we should start directly e-mailing each other or something, Flaezk has my email address if you want it, and may i have yours as well?
Flaezk - i would prefere if we were more in contact with emails as it seems like you do not want to work with me on this. i get this impression because i hardly hear from you. its no biggy really; just that i would like to make a contribution to this as much as the rest of you. just saying... anyway thats my rant, hope to hear of any findings you get Dakara, (and that goes for anyone else helping with this; ArynCrinn, moon_illuzion, savage?, Flaezk(obviously!), and any one else who ive missed out)
ill keep contributing none the less! and i hope we get on track soon.
see ya!
Ph[i]l
ArynCrinn - i think the incorrect spelling referes to the Revolution unvieling at this coming e3:
r E vpat E ntl E k 3 r - spells out EEE3 (or E3 which ever way you read it)
see it could either contribute to this mystery thing, or it could just be there for the sake of it. see what i mean? - too many variables. please help 'a friend'.
I checked the frames info on the bluluminoth page and it said it expires Sunday December 18, 2005 @ 3:39:40. Does that mean anything. Oh well I'm not good with this stuff. Ph[i]l your a big help
Here's my less used email address that I don't mind posting on here.
aryncrinn@yahoo.com.au
If I you email me there and I know I can trust you, I will give you my more used one.
I never noticed that Ph[i]l. His name has E3 in it. I still don't know why he left off the 'a'in leaker. Maybe the whole time he has been telling us to wait for E3 next year?
Probably, ArynCrinn - LOL
i typed up a really important post (which was also quite long) but a bloody deleted it from my mail instead on confirming it!
oh well - i just wasted aload of my time writing it up.
oh and Hobbes - it was a reply to you; i dont know mate! sorry. i'd just leave that site alone as its just an information source for what we need to solve this mystery. i'd look on www.nintendo.com/home - more importantly somewhere like the Forum section; or somewhere else on the site which seems a likely candidate. but the thing is; we dont know;
a)if we have the right information
b)where to look for inputting it somewhere
c)what the information should be (i.e. username + password - if so; which is which?)
d)what should happen if we are right
because of these points; i am waiting on 'a friend' before i do anything else... otherwise we are just stabbing blindly with no direction to follow.
Ph[i]l
ok i have never played mario kart ds yet, but i was in some forums earlier and some guy told everyone what his mario kart ds wifi code was and it was a 12 number code. by my count there is six numbers on the bluluminoth page and six numbers in the "footstep equation"
if it has somethin to do with this the clues hold true
-why* cant you fi*qure it out
-where nintendos words hold true
-the comercials for mariokart says "who are you?"
the problem is like i said i have never play the mario kart game so i dont know if any of this is valid. and if it is valid someone else would have to do it.
Nich: you said you were teased about liking the so-called "Old School" Nintendo. The proper response that would be, "That's right. Nintendo is old school, they have been around for longer than any of the others. Thats why they're gonna win!"
You guys are really working hard on solving the puzzle, I wish I'd had more time.
Phil - I haven't been much in contact with anyone lately, I'm really busy at the moment, but I'm trying to keep up with everything (my life and this discussion). I'm not ignoring you, if that's what you were thinking, I'd love to be more in contact with all of you. I'm sorry if I tend to dissappear from time to time.
I'm working on posting all of "our" emails on a website so that we can work more efficiently. How about it?
I'll be in touch again soon!
Have a nice day!

bubbafudd - i think that you are seriously on to something (completly out of the blue!) but i dont know how a ds wifi code can help us; unless there is a section where you use your wifi code to login somewhere? dont have a clue!
moon_illuzion - i think that you are onto a better path. i completly forgot about nintendopower, does the site have scans of the magazine pages? as i live in the UK, and i cant look at it.

they will supply you with my email address as i dont feel safe posting it here - they should be monitoring this forum so there should be no problem. if there is - just tell them to look at this post. just email me with your address, and let me know your findings.
be looking forward to hearing from you soon :)
Ph[i]l.
Yes. We are like a strange group no doubt, we should make a Development company or something LOL! I have always wanted to be part of the design team for video games. Twould be kewl. I dont mind giving you all my e-mail so we can work things better. When you Flaezk, you can give mine to everyone involved. I am working all the time on solving this mystery,(and working on all my very strange video game Ideas. I applied yesterday to 3 more Development teams, I dont think they think I am serious since I dont have any degree's. Can't afford it. Doesnt mean Im not capable though) a little rant there. I will check up on everything again Phil, especially what you have pointed out. =)
Aaargh!!
My Head!!
Aww...
Gah, we need somwhere secure and requires a login and password...
...couldn't someone whip a blog for us and eMail an access code to only us good people?
Why?
I can't see that we are getting anywhere in here. But it is a fun thing to do...all this...speculation...
Hmm...
Can someone eMail me their findings and fill me in?
Thanks!!
My Address is up there somewhere...

I'm new to this discussion and just stumbled on it because I scan engadget daily for interesting tidbits. I'm no huge gamer, but we are a Nintendo "family" so to speak, with gameboys and a Gamecube. My son is excited about the Revolution, so I've been trying to keep up on the news of it. Anyway, I stumbled on this discussion and have gotten totally sucked in. I just wasted the last two hours at work reading over the posts by "revpatentleaker" and "a friend." What a mystery! I can see why a few of you are so determined to unravel this. After thinking about some of these posts, I wanted to offer a couple of comments...but, really, you guys are the experts, I just got here.
Well, I was thinking about the info in "a friends" post":
innovate*:
what is a game? just a construct of hard-coded events with a beginning and an end..a finite existence? or can a Game revolve* ...is it possible within the realm of possibility for a game to not have a clear end.... .
we deter..and we avert our eyes from the path..and caught up in such things as digits and assignment keys*, but i haven't averted my eyes* i have seen them in my vision* at this sacred area*
..what if, there were no boundaries, and on each 12th* we received a new assignment, scripted from the minds of geniuses..
a new episode* ..to emulate*..the tv..never knowing what will happen on the next 12th*..1/12 ..remember*, so whilst the others will have grown weary and fed up of their tasks, and their journey and their halos end short... we will continue on...boundless, new missions, new tasks on a burst of light* ..a flash if you will..re-writing its end codes..for free*...why* can you not fi*gure it out?
and what of music..are notes only those given or shared by the artists of plastic circles, can we not Evolve past this? if indeed we are who we claim to be..if indeed we live for the Play* ..then why not graft your favorite notes from your experiences and use them to concuct in other experiences...why not make everything..every aspect a game..create your own patterns and sounds, customized by the ochestra that you lead with your wind waker*
Maybe someone has already said this, I didn't see anything, but I wanted to offer some ideas. I think here that he/she is talking about how the games will/can be updated by Nintendo...and it is a very cool idea. I was just looking over Nintendo's Wi-fi site and I can now see that the DS was just the tip of the iceberg.
Imagine playing a game, and based on your performance/location/other info, Nintendo downloads free* updates over the Revolution Wi-fi connection, and it is stored in flash memory. The blue light on the Revolution blinks to let you know that something has changed - and you start playing with the experience changing - revolving without end - each time you play. Very cool.
I'm not sure about the 12th or 1/12 thing, but it seems to reference when the updates will take place - "on each 12th we received a new assignment..." Imagine playing as Samus and waiting for your next assignment, not knowing what it would be...and it would be different each time! And the reference to "halos end short..." - a nice dig at Halo.
And the last part about only "artists of plastic circles" making music. Seems to me a reference to normal CD music. It looks like you will be able to make your own soundtrack, create your own music using some tool or function provided by the system. Interestingly, I was recently reading an article in Game Informer about the history of video game music and it specifically mentioned Nintendo as an early leader in developing innovative ways to use music in games. Maybe they will do it again?
So, the game becomes almost completely customizable. The storyline changes based on your progress/ability via flash updates to the system, and you can devise your own soundtrack for the game.
Of course, this is all conjecture on my part, but it sure sounds fascinating. Combine that with the unique capabilities of the controller and Nintendo just may revolutionize video gaming as it's now known. A completely immersive, customizable, globally linked gaming experience. Right in your living room. Now I see why Nintendo is insisting they are not competing with MS and Sony. Those companies have other franchises to protect that limits their ability to really innovate when it comes to gaming.
This all pretty interesting stuff, and now that I have spent another unproductive hour at work, I think I will just go home.
hey ive been reading this forum as well. I haven't given anything much thought up until the day i started sinking into this and let me tell you, when you're bored this revpatentleaker stuff can become VERY VERY addicitive. The spurts of info, the poetic violence in the words. Both revpatentleaker and a friend seem to be the same person but could be two entirely seperate entities. I was afraid to speak up until now cause i just didnt wanna add more confusion to the mix but i must must tell you guys that i am back as a nintendo fan. If this is what nintendo meant by bringing us Back then i am. Here is what i think on this.
The mystery, if you look at it from an outsider perspective, seems to replicate if not EXACTLY the words revpatentleaker/a friend is trying to say. I dont know if you guys realized this, but you are infact taking part in a sort of episodal form of gameplay here. He sends out more clues for you to solve and each time the story changes but in a very intrinsic and really awesome way still stays on the path. Speaking of paths, man im telling you i found alot of stuff in that page too. If I am correct, a friend just said that we are getting further off the path. Revpatentleaker also said a while back that some of us are too focused on specs which seems to be all what nintendo is repeating. Well if you go to the blu-luminoth page and look at the DOTS, and SCROLL down at a steady pace and keep looking at the dots you;ll notice they drift to the RIGHT!!!! (i think). Is that intentional??? Maybe they're right, this isn't about numbers and specs get it! This may be about games which leads to my next thing below.
Okay! next thing and this is A BIG one. I think it is BIG because there is NO friggin way this can be a coincidence in my mind. We all know gamespot.com has this Rumor Control column and i know they go after big fish rumors but apparently this one hasn't been that big fish enough for them to go. This makes me believe two things, revpatentleaker is real deal and he is flying under the radar really well. By just keeping a selective few informed and then coming out to the masses seems to parallel nintendo style. Okay so here's what i found out today..INSANE it just made ALOT OF sense. Ready??
Go to gamespot.com and go to the rumor control in the news section. You will see an article about 3..or 4 articles down on a game for the DS. Now get this, the article mentions and shows a BLUE RABBIT!! I think "a friend"'s site was blu-luminoth or something and the luminoth creatures (as it looks on metroid prime 2's manual) are very rabbit looking!!! Furthermore! this image of the Blue rabbit looks awefully similar in art style to the WHITE RABBIT. the both use a very simple circle (revolutions!) art form. Could it even be more of a coincidence that this game will never hit shelves and was just a one time creation. what are the chances of these two events being similar ..like astronomical. GO guys LOOK!.
I think the answer is like he said "where nintendo's words ring true". I think it has way more to do with how he spells his name and how he spells nintendo. There's alot of 1's and 2's and 6's and stuff involved. I also think this is legit. I've searched revpatentleaker on search engines and other people are noticing in a very real way. I hope the geniuses like Aryn and Phil and all above figure it out. I've even forgotten what we're looking for? Given the lack of nintendo ads for this things this seems to REALLY fill the void. So here's to you guys.
The best and most comforting thing revpatentleaker said was that nintendo has grown up. The DS looks really sweet. I noticed that the micro and the rev controller no longer have multi-colored buttons and kiddy swirly styles. Something is definitely changing, even super mario strikers is a sick soccer game. Something is changing and revpatentleaker clearly pre-revealed this wayyy before. Darkness and light and all that. Alot of references to metroid prime 2 and the matrix and now all of a sudden im hearing stuff about metroid prime 3 and matrix. IT just can't be a coincidence...something is seriously up and this is seriously legit. And you know what it makes me wonder, seriously, if the revolution is really what nintendo is working on. Maybe like he said once, there is another console coming out. No one is expecting this, a one two punch. The rev also has parental controls which makes perfect sense with the idea of them growing up. Its almost like saying "hey kids time to go to bed" Now for sure nintendo can venture into more serious games that explore futher into our creativity. Something's up guys, something BIG is gonna go down next year. Keep writing I love this place.
Wow. You people really are serious about this. Do you honestly think ANYONE is going to read all that? Didnt think so...
#7 on the other hand.... I don't even have anything to say about him/her(it?)... along with half the posts on this page, I'm sure...
"GO TO HELL NINTENTO PS3 OWNS YOUR ASS I HAVE PROVEN IT IN DEBATE"
Bet you feel special. I see you paid attention in first grade. But not after that.
(alright maybe I did have something to say!)
And I almost forgot, NINTENDO OWNZ I HAVE PROVEN IT IN DEBATE!!!!!!111
Honestly does PS3 have 20 years of downloadable first-party games? Didn't think so. At least the 360 has Live Arcade.
MiG55 - i think the issue with the blue rabbit, and the white rabbit are purely coincidental - what i mean is;
this game was just something that was discovered for no apparent reason. also (ive just realised this) - i think the "white rabbit" is a reference to 'Alice In Wonderland'-where Alice followed the WHITE RABBIT into the magical world of Wonderland. this just states that if we find the place that we are looking for (the secret forum) then, we will simply witness new ideas and new innovations. it's just a simple indication and metaphore - thats all.
also - i dont see how a game where you "stimulate a rabbit" is ANY indication of any secrets that Nintendo are planning on revealing for the Revolution (LMFAO)- unless they are REALLY dedicated to growing up LOL.

speculations:
observe the blu_**m***** rabbit hole, it's a sphere(more like a globe).Turn to NP wifi article and notice the connected points on the map. it resembles the eyebrow stroke on the blu_**m***** image. could be nothing, could be everything.
also compare the front cover of the current issue to the rabbit hole. Skateboard above, kart tire shadows below. It really suggests something about wifi. notice the "eyes" on the blu_**m***** image, kinda like the dots on the i's on wifi logo.
+Another possibility+(highly unlikely)

This is where i went the first time, thinking about the text in the blu_**m***** image:
follow the white = follow the light(luminoth)

welcome to the desert of the real
people of zion, the one(N*intE*ndO*) is coming.
Power is nothing without control.
None of you guys think the helmet thing is cool? I think the completly immersive enviroment thing would be cool with modern technology. Nintendo seems pretty confident though. It will be interesting which way these hardware wars go.

Things keep on popping up over here.
I've never owned a nintendo console before, but thats all about to change i will buy the revolution, for three reasons, looks the best, will have all the old and new games, and the control pad.(wow)
Psh, w/e guys, PS3 is gonna own all.
do i neeed to list all the ways it owns 360 and revoultion? i mean 360 doesnt have a very good APP, but dude PS3 has like the best to offer, and u know with nintendo's kiddy output they wont have to many APP related tittles unless that bump up their age ranged tittles. You can still pre-order PS3 unliked 360. and it has 7 wireless player output, so seven plp can play at a time on the ps3 and on internet, and has built in Wi-Fi, just like the revolution, but 360 doesnt have built in wi-fi, u havta buy it. even sweeter ps3 has a built in mp3 player wit it. so u can put the songs u wish on there. now tell me can 360 and revolution do all that? 360 is like the worst in the running bc it came out to early so ps3 and nintendo have the upper hand to create a much better console, and the 360 has a serious glitch in it, i read in the newspaper that certain games for the 360 can destroy its whole system and it will break down on u. and reely, even tho i go for ps3, nintendo is a serious contendor in this running, it comes out last, and has efficient time to see what the other companys got. and wit nintendo, creative thinking, with plp like shegiru and etc, they may make the best system to offer. i heard that revolution will have a sensor sheild around the player from many videogame magazines and from nintendo articles. that would be pretty cool, so when u look around the person in the game does too. and plus nintendo is pretty strong in the handheld franchise too.
All u sukas dat say revolution dont look good or it suk are gay fags
It will Su*k soooooo badly I cant even describe it
Nintendo SU*KS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they only make like baby games
and no it doesn't look good at all it looks like poo
360 WILL dominate
