PalmSource CEO David Nagel abdicates throne
No details on why he left or what this might mean for PalmSource (besides scrambling to find a successor), but David Nagel has just stepped down as CEO of the company. The Senior vice president of worldwide licensing, Patrick McVeigh, will get the benefit of a much shorter job title as he steps in as interim chief exec. Word came just a day before the PalmSource Developer Conference, which doesn't seem like the best timing for an amicable split, although he apparently gave no reason why he's jumping ship. He'll stay on in an advisory role until mid-July as the board looks for a permanent replacement.

This is typically not a good sign.
maybe he has an illegal immigrant as a nanny.
maybe he is an illegal immigrant...and his nanny foudn him out.
maybe.
remember this?
'Skype for palm OS in a month' (which wasn't true)

and I just read Jeffrey Citron (chairman and CEO of Vonage) answer to:
Q: You already have a softphone for Windows Mobile, where’s the softphone for the Palm OS?
A: If the Palm OS were a little easier to work with it might be here already.

Ouch. And the DS & PSP have or will have voice/VOIP
(I mention these two because Palm also has an interesting gaming side, see www.tapwave.com)
Palm OS is a date pain in the ass to develop for/on. Hopefully they will see the light while they still have time to save themselves from marketshare rape from more nimbe companies who are actually LISTENING to their developers.
What a miserable company. I lost so much money after buying their stock and believing in their products and vision. I hope they go bankrupt.
Fehhhh!
Nagel was a total hack... As a former Palm and then PalmSource employee I can speak from knowing that he had no vision and was only interesting in extracting what $$ he could from the company. If the SEC ever investigated PalmSource people like Nagel would be lead out in cuffs.
