BGB100 Bluetooth GamePad review

Chainpus BGP100

Mobile Gadget News got their hands on the BGP100 GamePad, that Bluetooth-enabled, um, game pad dealie from Chainpus we mentioned a couple of weeks back. They like it, mainly because it's a big improvement over playing games with the crappy little joysticks found in a lot of smartphones these days (we're looking in your general direction, Audiovox SMT 5600), but it turns out there's a very serious downside to the GamePad (well, besides the fact that it's yet one more thing you have to carry around): you have to reconfigure and set up the controls every single time you want to play a game. Think about that. That means you can't just pop in a game and start playing, even if you were just playing it the day before because apparently there's no way to save a controller profile for any specific game. Sounds like something they could easily fix, but in the meantime, unless you feel like mapping controller buttons every time you want to play Tetris on your cellie, it sounds like the GamePad will be of little use for you.
