Wireless USB 1.0 standard finally complete

You know, it would be more surprising if some big standards specification was not delayed, really. But it looks like they've finally gotten it together and the official Wireless USB spec is now complete. But oh, there's more to come — it's now got to go through the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) for "certification, compliance testing, logo licensing and marketing." Yawn. Set the snooze button again. Oh — for the uninitiated, Wireless USB is basically an extension of the USB 1.1 and 2.0 desktop busses, will be backward compatible with both, but will allow a USB connection to happen wirelessly using external adapters. It operates over the WiMedia Alliance's flavor of Ultra Wideband, which still faces competition from its rival camp at the UWB Forum. All these standards wars are just crying out "made for TV movie."
