Xbox 360 to ship by Thanksgiving?

So we know Microsoft is gunning for a holiday season
release for the Xbox 360, and buried inside
an article on the hardware testing process for the console is a wee bit of a more specific timeline: July will see
product validation, September will begin full-scale production, with an eye on meeting the "huge mandate" set forth by
Microsoft to have product ready to ship by Thanksgiving. Sales of canned cranberries expected to suffer.
[Thanks, spick]

I'm non-partisan. I'm getting both consoles (PS3 & Xbox360) because I simply love games. And anyway game prices $70? Who cares, I'll wait until the hacks come out and hook myself up real nice. Just rent and catalog, rent and catalog.
Well, for those of you saying that the XBox 360 is being rushed are dumb. Why you say this because the games at E3 were running on G5's? Well, just to let you know they have been in developement since the original XBox came out. And the only reason they were running on G5's is because the hardware isnt out yet. WTF does the hardware not being out yet have to do with the fact that they are releasing in 6 damn months?.... Nothing!!! I myself love both my XBox and PS2 and plan on getting the XBox 360 and the PS3.
P.S. Nintendo Sucks!!!!
I have no idea where Sony will launch first though. I'd suspect Japan first, but following the success of the PSP launch, and remembering how Sony had trouble meeting Christmas demand with the US PS2 launch, who knows? If the 360 follows the original XBox in failing to penetrate the Japanese market early on, Sony might chose to meet the competition head-on in N.A. first.
PS3 will wipe the floor with Xbox360.
1.It has twice the power.
2.Better graphics.
3.Looks better.
4.Fully backwards compatible(13,000+)games.
5.Better online play.
6.Better Technology.
PLAYSTATION WILL RULE YET AGAIN!!!

1) XBox360 "can" be named "XBox 1.5" in terms of the comparable difference the PS2 to PS3 jump is to the XBox to XBox 360. It's a matter of opinion and not stupid or unreasonable. I also agree we should not say "M$" or BS like that.
2) Both consoles have yet to be released but XBox fans shouldn't say that their games were running on atleast MACs or Alpha kits because the consoles aren't releasing on the same launch window so obviously the fairest comparison is in another few months when the PS3 alpha kits may show some demos.
3) What's gonna happen to those that don't believe that the PS3 is capable of all the tech demos and real-time Sony showed at the conference and it comes true? Are you people saying you would buy the PS3 if they did perform?
4) To be honest, alot of XBox 360 titles that are most awaited will also have PC versions made and so it is fair to say that especially with this point in mind, that the PS3 has a better software support and it's impossible to ignore that whatever you think of the PS2, it still conquers the current gen with 80% market share, like it or not, understand it or not, it truly doesn't matter because it is a fact.
5) It is true that XBox's strongest assets lie with the XBox Live online service and Halo, but isn't it very naive to think that Sony will not build on that? Just saying "no they won't" doesn't count for anything, and trying to say they don't fulfill their promises is also weakened with the fact that hype or not, when people already understood what the PS2 was in reality, they still bought it because it was a better system in their eyes. The consoles should be judged by it's success in no small amount.
6) Rumour's have put the PS3 price tag above and below US$370, but "under US$370" is the latest news from a decent source and atleast if you believe it or not, you know that it's better than a hunch at thinking it couldn't possibly be that cheap. Technologies in a year aren't predicted, but don't just be negative with possibilities because you like one system over the other more.
7) In comparison, with arguments flying here and there from both MS and Sony, in the end the PS3 has more under the hood and that is what they are targeting for, whilst the XBox360 is targeting for less, so I don't see why XBox fans should be unhappy and say that there is more in the X360 cause there just isn't.
8) The look of each console is a matter of opinion, but if you think the PS3 looks like a fridge or a sleek looking BOSE system, the XBox360 can equally be said to look cheap and actually doesn't even suit most living room appliances. Changeable face plates?! In my opinion, it looks fugly just changing the face because in most homes and especially with the shape of the X360, the sides WILL be shown and it'll be aesthetically distastful to be honest.
9) MS supporters should look at the efforts made by MS at the X360 MTV launch and E3 conference. Atleast Sony wanted to show us GAMES, not celebrities. Which is more important to you in terms of what the E3 and next-gen consoles embodies?
10) I do support Sony and their ideas and am definately much more impressed by their next-gen console, but it's funny to hear people say things like X360 has more power when they are comparing numbers they don't even understand. Even if you understand the X360, are you literate in CELL?
Oh, and what are X360 fans going to do when the PS3 is fully in motion and X360 is at it's limit of performance? Buy a PS3 because it has more to offer? In the next few years the possibilities will favour the PS3 whilst with the X360 looking so near to the present, it's going to be hard to picture MS challenging for a greater market share without having to push for "yet another" early next-gen release. What next? XBox720 coming out in 2008? It's ridiculous to think that MS will win this one. With what has been put on the table, Sony and it's PS3 will dominate the next-gen race, I'm confident.
Xbox 360 will kill PS3. Xbox is now releasing a counterpart to all of your fussing. A graphics cell with memory built in. Sony does not have this technology.
Plus, why give the Japanese money?
