Crazy Frog ringtone tops British charts, beats out actual music

Remember the good old days of five minutes ago when you could count on the singles charts being topped by (albeit, often crappy) conventional musical productions? Stop holding on to the past, yo. Otherwise top-of-the-chartsters Coldplay were given a sound 4-1 trouncing by one supremely ridiculous ringtone known as Crazy Frog Axel F, which moved in to the top slot on the British singles chart yesterday. It's the first time a lowly ringtone hath entered into battle with conventional full-length tracks and won. Please don't ask us why.

Whoever commented about this thing being ripped off of the insanity test is absolutely right...I've heard both more than a few times & am 100% positive! How is no one complaining about copyright issues yet??

The reason there are no copyright issues is that the german guy who recorded it sold the copyright to Jamster. If anything, Jamster are more likely to sue the insanity test sites for using it!

This is the worst abomination ever! the person who made this (and the head of marketing at Jamster) should have to listen to the f**king frog at volumes which will cause brain cancer. It shows
a) how fickle and consumer-influences kids are nowadays
b) how irrelavent the singles chart is now
c) how UK culture and television is on a downward spiral of increasing stupidity, soon to be at the bottom of the pile along with the US

Is there an anti-crazy frog site on the net anywhere and can I join? My friend in Billingham gave me a call last Sunday and his mobile began ringing...you guessed it...with the crazy frog. I had to ask him about what I was hearing....oh boy. He droploaded me a copy of the radio edit along with a note that said, "I apologise." Now, I am American and we're not bombarded with this like you Brits (and my friends in Rotterdam) but that doesn't make it any less horrid. What's most shameful about it to me is that it came anywhere near edging out Coldplay for the #1 slot, much less having done just that. Eesh!

This is just a rehash of Axel Foley's Theme from the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. That's why the weird-ass frog is called Axel F. I take it as a direct insult to Eddie Murphy.

I watched the video, and I think I lost 10 IQ points. It wasn't that it wasn't entertaining...it was that it just made me go wtf? like ten times, and the clip is only like a minute long.

I think British troops need to be trained on additional thing: if someone throws a cellphone into your trench, quickly cover your ear or you'll be mesmorized and unable to move! :)

Craaah, what I hate most about the f*ckin Gayass Frog is the annoying ads on the net and you whack your mouse over it. It goes off and it makes you jump. Grr!

Finally, a reason to be proud to live in the U.S.: we don't need to hear a remix single of that obnoxious fucking ringtone. I think Jamster started advertising (read: flooding commercial breaks) on either Christmas or Christmas Eve here too, and I instantly found their routine insufferable.

I HATE so-called "musical" ringtones. I've only found one site on the internet that sells ordinary ringers. It's at www.soundslikeaphone.com and it sells er, ringtones that sound like a P-H-O-N-E. The site's kinda hokey, but that's good. It also sells them limited edition. I've got on that samples a phone used in a British mineshaft. I hope others get on board and realise that not everyone wants a phone to sound like a disco!!!
