No, we're not just bringing you news of some new industrial group's DVD release — they mean Germproof quite
literally. As in, you could lick your DAP, eat off your
cellphone, and now you can bite down on that DVD without
fear of bacterial nasties. Chow down, kids!

Does this mean I don't need the antivirus software on my laptop anymore?
Chancellor Martok @ Dec 19th 2005 1:21AM
Is this because they know the DVD will end up being a coaster?

i have a question, i know the simple answer most of you would say but just listen. Why did they need to cover the cd with that plastic thing for no one to touch? but isnt it germ-free always, it wouldnt matter if someone sneezed on it for something.
Hitesh Sawlani @ Dec 19th 2005 1:21AM
The cover is so that noone gets smudges on it or steals it

The point of this is to minimize bacterial transportation, leading to a healthier society. Cell phones, DVDs, DAPs, all these are handled often and taken everywhere. Thus, making them cleaner means the owner (you) will be healthier (i.e. not get sick as often). A good idea, I think.

Does anyone notice that in the second photo the information next to the DVDs is phrased wrong and silver is spelt sliver.
