Thermaltake's Computex fanboys
Booth babes we've heard of, but quite why Taiwanese CPU cooler manufacturer Thermaltake felt compelled to field an army of helmeted geeks (CPU-fan-cooled helmets, no less) at Computex last week is totally beyond us. NVIDIA apparently one-upped them with a stand where you could get a cone of green ice cream for yelling the company's slogan into a megaphone, though.

What geeks...
nvidias slogan? umm...i dont even know it. id grab the megaphone and yell 'buy ati' or something. if only ati would make some drivers for linux that dont require you to sell your soul for an installaion :x
"why Taiwanese CPU cooler manufacturer Thermaltake felt compelled to field an army of helmeted geeks (CPU-fan-cooled helmets, no less) at Computex last week is totally beyond us"
because of they just had a bunch of booth babes they wouldn't get separate articles written about them on tech websites? besides, given their relative scarcities, i'm sure that they had to pay the bunch of geeks much less than they'd have to pay a halfway decent model
did Michael Jackson buy thermaltake or something ;)?
Dito made a great point. CPU coolers aren't as sexy as big LCD TVs so Thermaltake had to try something different to get on the front page of Engadget.
I think nVidia's slogan is "Sure it tanks in all other games, but it accelerates the shadows in Doom 3 like nobodies business!"
I still prefer nVidia for the facts that
A. ATI crashed windows when I try to bump up resolution behond 800x600... which my monitor displays wrong because its such a low res...
B. After I returned the POS ati (it was even a 9800 pro), the fucking "Media Player" that took over all my files is acting more like spyware or a virus and refuses to leave the residence of my computer..... *Went back to his yr old nvidia over the brand new ati..*
Haters are so stupid.
Can anyone EVER fathom why foreign companies do what they do when it comes to tradeshows and such? ! No seriously, even I can't fathom it and I worked in the PC Hardware industry. All I know is the sight of a group of fanboys all huddled together looking like lost sheep makes me feel sorry rather than excited about Thermaltake's line of products.
By the way, nVIDIA's slogan is "The Way It's Meant to Be Played" or something like that. Say what you want about their hardware, ATI doesn't have a driver that can touch the reliability of nVIDIAs (go 6600GT, woot!)
Well, if you go to Taiwan, you can see that almost everyone acts and dresses the same way. This method, makes their company stand out. And hey, its unique and original, so who cares. :)
Retards should not be allowed to own computers. Carl can't install a video card and calbear81 apparently can't either. Uninstall your previous drivers, then install the card, then update to the most recent drivers. I've run ATI hardware for the last four years and I have no instability problems whatsoever. Though I will admit Nvidia does have a significant advantage when it comes to rendering Doom 3's shadows, dimly lit environments and many other varieties of darkness.
