Popco's Freecion FR3 flash player
Just because they made an MP3 player roughly the size of a AA cell (that actually uses a AAA) isn't really enough to
make us flinch anymore (and in the case of the Freecion FR3, the design isn't either). But we can still appreciate
Popco making these little buggers in sizes up to a gigabyte, and the OGG (in addition to the standard WMA and MP3), FM
radio, and voice and line-in recording support doesn't hurt either. Is it gonna take the reigning flash player that
whose name shall not be spoke? Probs not,
but it's more than likely not coming to America, too.

sound a lot like the iriver ifp 800 series...

come on guys, improve your english.
I like the design. It looks like it's meant to be gripped and you use your thumb to drive the controls. Neat. I RIKEY A ROT!
No offense to you guys, cuz I really enjoy reading about all the cutting edge gadgets that pop up, but if you guys are gonna post about these generic flash DAPs all the time, it gets very redundant and boring...take a look at the store window of an average electronics boutique in Hong Kong, and you'll see a 6'x6' wall of almost a thousand *DIFFERENT* flash DAPs...pick any combination of memory, format support, OLED display, AAA/built in battery, USB 1.1/2.0, Line in/microphone, price, and the salesman can point you to a few dozen with those specs.
If you wanna report on a bluetooth/WiMax AA-sized model with 50TB flash mem and XM/Sirius support, cool...but please don't waste any of our time with these buck-a-piece generic players.
@ #3:
no one's making you read it, buddy.
Is it just me? or does that MP3 player look like a lighter?
Well, somce of us don't live in Hong Kong and have no prospects of visiting it anytime soon. Those few of us actually appreciate learning about what might be possible to get, if only through the internet.
definitely looks like a lighter
wait thats a briliant idea!
a mp3 lighter!!!! it could play tunes only when lit. makes sparkin the bong that much better.
yelohbird,
Three words to keep in mind when you see "boring" posts such as these: slow news day.
Best,
Ryan
I am seriously looking for a flash based player that supports OGG. The OGG format sound way much better than mp3 in lower bitrates. I use it mostly for audio lectures and ogg tends to keep away from lowbitrate artifacts. Can anyone recommend an OGG player under 100 bucks besides the iriver? ebay/online/US store or such.
Lighter? It looks more like suicide-bomber handheld detonation device. Either way, good luck getting it on a plane.
