Whoa, Tribeca Grand Hotel, going all cutting edge tech on us, are ya? They've just announced their premium tech room outfitted with a bunch of crazy Apple paraphernalia, complete with obligatory lowercase "i" name: the iStudio. If you can afford the $369-499 per night rate (dependent on season), you'll be privy to a fully-loaded G5 video and sound editing suite with iSight cams, wireless everything, iPod and BOSE Sound Dock, plus loaner portables (Sony Handycam DV, Powerbook, iPod(s)). The iStudio is apparently geared towards "weekend Spielbergs" — if you find any of those, send them to Tribeca.
Wow. I wanna stay there. Go apple! :)
That's Hot. I have seen articles in magazines about similar rooms in other hotels.
i see a lot of police investigative coverage coming out of this one .... can you say .. porn .. orgies .... or worse .. child porn ...
$369, cheaper than renting all that gear for the day, something I would consider if I had loads of cash stuffed away.

I here Apple is switching to Hilton Hotels next summer.

Personally, when I go on vacation and stay at a nice hotel, it's because I'm getting AWAY from my computers. Also, if you can afford to stay here, you probably already have all the G5s you need.
It's New York - $369-499/night is not *that* expensive.
1. That is cheap for a suite in NYC.
2. That is waaaaay cheap for rental time for that gear alone-try renting some Avid time or production suite time.
3. They will be overwhelmed with reservations at those rates-mainly by people who'd otherwise rent production suite time.
