RIM and NTP headed back to court
Sorta figured this one was over and done with, but it looks like RIM and NTP are headed back to court over that wireless email patent infringment lawsuit they settled back in March. You'd think RIM would be doing everything possible to find some way out of the settlement after the US Patent & Trademark Office invalidated one of the five patents that was the basis of NTP's suit (they agreed to pay NTP $450 million to license its patents while the two companies hammered out a final agreement), but they're the ones asking a court to enforce the terms of the settlement, accusing NTP of refusing to "honor its obligations."

first!
Alfred, What possible joy could you get from being the first person to post you moron?
Now, pointing out the short comings of other people is completely different!
The move could also be a smart ploy by RIM to invalidate the agreement and still come out looking like an honest player.
who are these children who get off on having the first post? get a freakin' life!
its probably the same person making the post with different names just to bug you becuase it knows it will.
The glory of this whole NTP thing is that at least it seems to have taught RIM a lesson. Before NTP sued them, RIM was running all over the place threatening every company with a thumb keyboard or wireless push email solution of infringing on their patents. They even went as far as to try to demand that anyone using a thumb keyboard license the "technology" from them.
You will notice that ever since they got hit with the instant karma of being accused of patent infringement themselves, there hasn't been a peep from their legal department about suing anyone else. I would love to think that they had learned their lesson, though it is probably more likely that their legal department has just been too busy to get around to being a pain in someone else's side.
