Sharp's HR-MB3S 4GB digital audio player
We can appreciate the constraints companies have to work with when they're designing a product, but can anyone explain why the LCD screen on the HR-MB3S, Sharp's new 4GB digital audio player, is so danged small? Seems like such a waste to slap a color display on there if you're not going to make it useful for looking at digital photos or comfortably navigating your music collection or whatever. Oh, and for context this one's a bit bigger, heavier, and costlier than the 4GB iPod mini.

doesn't mention anything about screen res, or about sound quality.
what if had really really good sound quality, and a 400x800 screen?
It also do not come with a replaceable battery. Silly me - I thought that Zen Micro and iRiver H10 was the beginning of a new trend. At least the iPod:s have workarounds for this.
do they all have to come with revolving menu selections, is there no originality anymore?

I agree with #1. Replaceable batteries are my new "must have" criteria for gadgets.
That's weird - the last I heard from inside Sharp was that they were not releasing this as planned at IFA after all since it'd have to compete with the iPod.
Maybe they're just not going to release it in Europe or the US?
