Introducing Engadget Spanish
You knew we weren't going to limit the foreign language love to just Asia, so following hot on the heels of Engadget Chinese and Engadget Japanese we're introducing our latest site, Engadget Spanish, which will feature translations of Engadget posts as well as original content for readers in Spain and Latin America.

Wow, two languages in one day
Score.
whens the Armenian engadget gonna be available?
Yeah at this rate I wont be surprised to see an engadget Klingon in about a week.
The comments page is still in english???
>>whens the Armenian engadget gonna be available?
I think they'd do Klingon or 1337speek first my friend.
If a spanish translator is needed tell me.
When is the English version going to be available?
Oohhhhh...DISS!
Keep up the good work guys!
Great to read the translations are expanding!
however, this does concern me:
"hich will feature translations of Engadget posts as well as original content for readers in Spain and Latin America."
Personally, I do not want to miss out on gadgets in other parts of the world. Is the "original content" for the non-English sites information about local laws and regulations only or tech stuff too?
thanks!
The local stuff will pertain to cellphones and other product releases that are specific to those markets. Anything really noteworthy will make it on both sites. Same thing with Engadget Japanese and Engadget Chinese.
what about engadget in portuguese?
we people from brasil really need a website with great quality such as engadget
¡¡Muy bien!!! ¡¡Felicidades!!
Como se escribio... ¿siguen los comentarios en INGLES?
;)
russian could be good, no?
Thank for the effort, but... who is making those odd translations???
I think I will keep reading the English version.
Thank you anyway!
Best regards from Spain.
EI!!! that really a good news!! I read this website every day, 3 o 4 time per day, and now in Spanish too!! THANKS!!
Gracias!! realemnte una alegria!!!!
Shouldn't it be Engadget Espa?
I'll be looking forward to the Hieroglyphics version.
"other product releases that are specific to those markets."
Ack. But you see, I do not want to miss out on *any* of the gadgets, except for the nation-specific cellphones. Cellphones from other nations cannot normally be used in N.America, but other gadgets can easily be imported or picked up during my travels. How will I know to look for a Japanese Hello Kitty USB soda snuggly if I do not read about it on Engadget?
buenas noticias!
keep up the good work.
Perfecto!
Andreu y yo os lo agradecemos
Felicidades
Yo tambi?lo agradezco, aunque creo que seguir?eyendo la mayoria en ingles...
If you need translators, here we are the Spanish community!!
Que gustazo ver comentarios en espa?..
Nice try, but you should get yourselves a decent translator, or someone who really speaks Spanish... the guys posting at Engadget Espa?don't, trust me.
You might let them know that we have accents in Spanish, as well.
Great site! and good news for the non-english speaking geeks. I just hope that the next version of the Spanish site uses non-beta translators. If you need one I'm your man!
Ditto on #7, if you need someone with good spanish and english knowledge, just let me know ;)
Spain and Latin America? I would assume that this is for California and not Spain and Latin America...
Gracias por ofrecer 'engadget' en mi lengua. Dos sugerencias: mejorar la traducci? cambiar el logo de cabecera de 'engadget spanish' a 'engadget en espa? ;)
De cualquier forma se agradece mucho el esfuerzo.
----
Thanks for translate engadget to my language. Two suggestions: first, improve the translation and; second, change the header logo image from 'engadget spanish' to 'engadget en espa? ;)
Anyway we appreciate this effort.
yeah! when will we see a engadget in portuguese!
if you need one translator, feel free to mail me.
now all you need is french...
ah forget them...
;)
jk
Yeah, I agree. Traduction sucks big time. This is not a good product and makes me wonder if other international engadget versions are so ill treated.
I see a lot of people very interested in doing translation for this engadget version. We really would like to know who makes this edition and why is he giving such a poor performance for such a big market.
Cuento antes lo pido, antes lo pon? :D
Genial!
I am sorry to complain, but these Spanish translations are very bad!. I don´t know who translate the articles but they have awful Spanish grammar, with important and serious mistakes like mixing articles genres or constructing impossible sentences. Sometimes it is hard to follow and understand what they want to say.
I think even the Google translator could do it better.
Congrats on the new spanish site. I agree w/ most of the comentarios here - the translations are um, 'interesting' and you do get the sense that something is just not right.
Nevertheless, KUDOS for the effort, its DEFINITIVAMENTE a great step. I myself will now visit BOTH sites! (dont wanna miss out on stuff like PLATANO BRANDED IPODs in the spanish version =).
I do hope things improve in the translation dept. If you guys need AYUDA! I also offer my double-layer super dupper 500 gig spanish/english brain.
arevoir!
P.S yes it should be "ENGADGET ESPA?
I don't like to say this, but the Spanish versions of the articles are terrible. A serious site shouldn't have so bad translations. I'll keep reading the English version.
Man this really is a great idea...now that the spanish culture is growing rapidly...once again...esta es una buena idea...SI SE?R!!!!
Just a tip... I think Engadget Espanol sounds better.
You guys are top notch. Kudos.
The Spanish translations are very bad!.
Do you need translators ?,
Congratulations from Portugal. Like two other commenters, I am also curious if you plan to have a portuguese translation of your site. I am sure it would be much appreciated by your portuguese and brazilian readers. BTW, portuguese is the 5th most spoken language in the world. ;)
Afonso is rigth! How about the site in portuguese? it's the 5th most spoken language in the world.
