It's not likely to happen here in the States for quite some time, but the venerable ol' YASN Friendster has been trialling a mobile version of its social networking service in the Philippines, and plan to roll it out to other parts of Asia and Europe over the coming year. The service will send SMS alerts to your cellphone when friends contact you via the online Friendster site, photos can be uploaded from phones to Friendster profiles, and you can contact your Friendsters directly via SMS. If they want to cash in on the MoSoSo market here in the States, they'll likely have to hoof it to beat out whatever head start the whole Google/Dodgeball partnership will have by that time.
