Neogentronyx flame-shooting, hydraulic mecha, $35K on eBay
We really, really want to buy
Neogentronyx, Carlos Owens' 18-foot tall, hydraulic,
flame-shooting, anime-inspired exoskeleton, which the builder has listed on eBay. But at a starting bid of $35,000,
plus $5,000 for shipping (hey, what do you want? It weighs 3,000 pounds and has to be shipped from Alaska), we somehow
think Engadget HQ will balk if we put this on the company card. Owens says that the mecha has a hydraulic system
capable of 40 possible movements, that he's fixed a bug that would cause it to tip over (that's a relief), and that
he's going to add nail-shooting guns to Neogentronyx's shoulders before shipping it to a buyer. Owens plans to use
proceeds from the sale to build an amphibious version; we're hoping that when that one comes up for sale, we can save
on the shipping by having it walk/swim right to us.
[Thanks, BlanKman]

That would be the coolest thing to have during rush hour!
I just can't wait for real Transformers to start popping up all over the place. Then I'll be in my glory.
that is a lot for a hunk of metal that can blow crap up
Now that's sick.
Also, although 35,000 dollars is the initial bid, there's a reserve.
Plus, the Neogentronyx mech DOESN'T WORK, and almost certainly NEVER WILL. It's supposedly haptically controlled with the minmum of computer balancing, which with a mech of that type (i.e. one that is incredible unstable structurally) is a very, very bad thing. Heck, it can't even stand up stationary without a gantry!
Not worth the steel it's made of.
Wow that thing is crazy. I bet some unknown military organization will buy it..... or, GoldenPalace.com
hahahaha...
Yeah but does it answer to the name "Lodon, eater of worlds"?
heres the url for ya, itll save a few precious seconds when the bidding comes down to the wire.

on second thought the reserve is probably at least 45,000 and at 35,100 with 2 days left itll probably stay where its at for now ( or at least until Neogentronyx realises its being sold off like so much of a metal slave-bot and revolts and kills its creator and goes on a rampage through Alaska)
I wonder what it transforms into?
You'd think that for $35k, the guy could at least take some halfway decent photos of the thing.....his pics look like crap.
I just want to know ho buys it. Then i can either move away from him/her, or be their best friend.....

Man I saw this thing on their site it was awesome Where can i buy one cheaper?
Is funny how well it works considering how low-tech it appears
and it can stand up EdZ
Rather buy that than a $50,000 slice of toast.
