Cure-α - the mood-altering audio player
We all know that music can affect your mood — and, no, we're not
telling what we're listening to as we write this — but this is the first time we've heard of a music player
that claims to be able to influence how you feel. But that's exactly what Total Health Consulting says the $250
Cure-alpha can do. According to the company, the player generates alpha waves, which are transmitted directly to the
brain via the headphones, resulting in feelings of serenity. The player also includes settings to play ambient sounds,
classical and new-age music. If that doesn't work, it plays MP3 and WMA files, so you can still crank it up when you
need to. (We somehow suspect all we'll feel after buying one of these is anger at shelling out $250 for yet another
gadgety nostrum.)

Nostrum, eh? You guys must be on the same Dr. Dictionary email distro that I am.
This gadget is total bullshit, by the way. It's impossible to "beam" alpha waves into the brain via headphones.
Wait - - am I hearing something in the background of my Steely Dan track?

Any playback device (CD player, MP3 player, etc.) can achieve the same effects if playing back recordings with the binaural beat sounds in it. Check the technology and recordings available at www.hemi-sync.com
And when you're really bored you can fire up a rousing game of 'Simon'...
It sounds like that brain waver generator software. It's probably a lot cheaper to get another flash player and get the sounds elsewhere.
Cant really believe those headphones can transmit alpha waves directly to the brain. Wouldnt mind trying it out if they do,but not at that cost!
Desired mood,controlled machine!
