SideWindow turns your Pocket PC into a secondary display
You can wait for Longhorn to deliver
auxiliary display functionality — which
will allow you to run certain apps on separate dedicated displays — or for $15, you can install SideWindow and use your
Pocket PC as an secondary display right now. The app installs on XP, and tricks Windows into treating the Pocket PC as
an additional screen. You can drag any window over to your new mini-monitor, allowing you to use it as, say, an IM
console, image viewer, or sticky note display, without installing any software on the PDA. Now all we need is a way to
do this wirelessly, so we can use the Pocket PC as a mini-tablet and carry it across the office and kick back with it
on the couch.

Does the PDA have any funtionality over the desktop, such as controlling PowerPoint?
Hmmm...
Will it work with my Happauge PVR card?
That's pretty neat!
It works over your Activesync connection, so you can use it wirelessly assuming you set everything up right. Haven't been able to get it to work on my Loox 720 though, but this is a very good idea.
You can use VNC viewer to use the pocketPC like a mini mini-tablet.
but no support for smartphones :(
You can stream XP wirelessly over wifi or bluetooth, just use the terminal program in PPC2003 and enable your PC to accept remote access. Doh.
Pretty neat. I downloaded the demo and it works rather well. Of course it's a little choppy on the PDA, but that's expected.
I'm just keeping my Winamp there for now.
Well, the Vice-versa is possible ???? ;)
In my quick tests (with a Dell Axim X50v), the side window proved too "slow" to be of much use. I could barely track my mouse because the screen updates were too slow. Very cool idea, though!
Great little program, however pic is misleading - the picture quality when running video is not usuable. Maybe as a picture viewer, but not watching video.
logmein.com - amazing, way better than any vnc client, try it on your hx4700, and best of all, 100% free
I'm loving it ... great novelty value ... I have iTunes on it ... was tempted to take a photo of iTunes on a pocket PC but thought it was a bit daft ...
Does anyone know if this will work, as a third, display in XP. I am using my notebook as number one, a crt as 2 and curious if this will work as a third.
Is it just me, or is that 405 playing?

14. it is 405 haha
10. Try taking off Acceleration
Under Tools > Options > Performance
Set video acceleration to none and see if that helps.
I set this up on my HTC magician as a third display in XP, works great.
#12 - yes, a photo's pretty daft... so why not just post a video? http://home.comcast.net/~armaan/files/sidewindow.mov [2.43MB, no sound]
This gives some sense of the usability (of lack of) of this for any application that requires FPS of more than say, one. Granted, this is an ancient PPC with only USB1.1, but I doubt even the best setup would fare much better.
Any chance of running this on a PSP?
