The ARTEC 2 HAPPY GO for DVD playback and DVB-T on the road
ARTEC is shipping their new T2 HAPPY GO, which despite its name, is not a jolly, rucksack toting cyborg sent back from the year 2029. This portable DVD player slaps a reasonable 7-inch 480x234 resolution 16:9 aspect TFT onto a very portable and sleek pack. But what's kickin' about this portable (for those of you in Europe and Asia, anyway) is the option to attach a module for the DVB-T flava of terrestrial digital TV to the accompanying tuner box, which also includes two built-in 2.5 watt "high quality surround speakers." There's even an optional analog TV tuner and FM module for the rest of us tech slackers. The T2 supports playback of DVD, VCD, SVCD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD±R, DVD±RW, Picture CD, MP3 CD, and JPEG CD, but unfortunately lacks DivX or MPEG-4 support — if that's your game then you'll have to wait until Archos delivers on their promise of a PVP with DVB-T. You'll find the T2 with DVB-T tuner online for about €350.

Doesn't seem like all that great of an item. Why not just get one of the many portables available on the market now for MUCH LESS!

The US is stuck with 8-VSB for now unless of course we wake up before it is too late.
Now is the time to change modulations to the world standard before it is too late.
To late is after we flood the US with Government financed free OTA 8-VSB receivers designed NOT to work so that Congress then can sell off TV channels above 51.
