Gateway axes TV line... again
They're in! They're out! They're in again! Now they're out again! That's right, Gateway is once more closing up shop on some of their consumer electronics—their plasma and LCD TV business, in this case—in order to focus on their PC business. Is it just us, or is this starting to sound kind of like a on-again off-again relationship? Shame too, they were so good for one another.

I'ts probably better that Gateway doesn't sell LCD and Plasma TV's. God knows how poorly their computers are selling in comparison to DELL, HP/COMPAC and Sony.
I would never, NEVER, NEVER, buy a Gatewy Plasma TV simply because I don't trust the product. Right now, I have a SONY Plasma wall mounted TV, with a Pro LogicII 7.1 SONY Home theater system. I trust SONY and love their products. To me Gateway is a poor man's attempt at buying products that resemble quality.
Wow, you're bragging about the TV you own on a blog page. Sony makes unreliable junk disguised as quality, that TV won't last and you will be left friendless and uncool when your precious TV is gone.
Has EVERYONE seen the GTA: SA Hot coffee video?
if not...

Even Apple sells more computers than Gateway! ;)
I would buy a Panasonic LCD or Plasma anyday over a Sony. Sony is over-priced, over-rated, under-reliable junk, *espescially* in their TV's and Audio Equipment. Take a look at a 50 inch Sony plasma, then sit it next to a 50 inch Panasonic plasma, I guarantee you the Panasonic both looks better, and is MUCH cheaper.
Sony. Blech. Vomit.
How many times have i replied to the question "why is your [insrt device here] not working?"
"It's a Sony."
This is kind of interesting. I was a huge casion last week (www.atlantiscasino.com) who uses exclusively Gateway plasmas. I mean they have at least 1000 of those babys. Wonder how gateway can justify cutting the line with business like that?
I'm not a big sony fanboy like I used to be when I was a teen (bought MiniDisc, not worth the hassle); but I have to say, in my experience, and knowing my friends' experience with Sony TVs: My family has a 20+ year old color CRT that still works! And we both have identical Sony 30 something inch TVs that just died recently after about 20 years of "primary television in the house" usage. I will stick with my Sony's, atleast when it comes to TV's.
Sorry to have to defend Sony in a Gateway post, but someone needed to say it.
Once again, Sony TV's are not unreliable. The rest may be true, I won't attempt to discuss something which I have no knowledge about. Thx :)
Uh, I doubt Gateway is actually manufacturing their own flat panel TVs. They're just rebranding someone else's hardware. Anyone know whose?
