but i do need you!
wrong number of buttons.
I haven't got you....
but I think I need you !
Come to papa ...!!
*sigh*
The word "art" is being tossed around pretty loosely these days.
...and right on #2 :p
But I DO need you! :'(
sorry, I've just been unable to charge my iPod for the past months and a half, and I'm going crazy without music on the go :|
Looks like something a kid did. Lets show some effort on the anti-ipod front kids! Don't half-ass it!
Haha, looks like you all fell for the Ipod propaganda. Whoever did this has the right idea, there are much better players out there.
"Whoever did this has the right idea, there are much better players out there."
I hope this is a joke. People who do this kind of thing in large American cities are generally spoiled little whiny teenagers rebelling against their parents' materialistic ways. They don't want you to have *any* mp3 player because all it does is support this country's capitalist/imperialist society. And by the way, down with rent!
Its a kid who wants to buy one but his parents wont let him, so he's telling people not to get them. Simple as that.
thankyou #7... you said it all!! :) DOWN WITH THE IPOO!!!
thankyou
I think it was written by a homeless man.
damn hippies.
It was written by muggers to help you cope.
There are way too many I-Pod fans out there. It's an overpriced hard drive in my opinion with a halfway decent interface. Plain and simple.
So is this art? Hell yes! And damn funny art at that.
"Its a kid who wants to buy one but his parents wont let him, so he's telling people not to get them. Simple as that."
Yep. Or it's not a kid, just a pathetic soul who can't afford one, so no one should have one. It's warmed over anti-cell phone crap. That was weak and this is worse.
Halfway decent interface? Show me a player with a better interface that can be effortlessly controlled with one finger/thumb. Simplicity and efficiency has always been the key to iPod success, not even mentioning iTunes syncing capabilities...
Try that on your Sony... Dell... Whatever...
Ok, so I admit it's a great interface but sure as hell not worth paying a few hundred dollars for. Man the Apple fanboys are rabid today.
Apple fanboy or not, we are blind if we do not see the consumerism monster the ipod is. We interchange want with need way too much in this country. Yet, I have one...
Uh-oh...here we go again with the haters and lovers...AGAIN!
The image is absolutely correct, I don't need no stinking first gen Ipod, I need the latest greatest one, right now!
Shhhh sh sh sh sh.... everyone, calm down, it's just an MP3 player.
Buy and iRiver H320 or H340, trust me, they are a lot better than an ipod. They are even better than an ipod photo.
first the Ipod, next, the Volkswagen...
LOL!!
Looks like Microsoft took to heart IBM's "Peace, Love, & Linux" stealth marketing campaign. Pathetic attempt at boosting "Plays for Sure" if you ask me... :)
I see nothing wrong with the art or the message. It's good for us to step back an relise gadgets aren't the most important things in the world. You guys don't want to end up like the "*cloudsong" guy do you?
*Google search "Wow is serious business" first result you'll see what I mean.
I have yet to see another MP3 player that has the same features as my 2nd Gen iPod for less.
What I personally need in an MP3 player:
Acts as desktop HD, can boot off of it
20Gb or more
Firewire interface (for lots of large art files)
Uses iTunes for music interface
Less than $250
20+ hours battery life (yes, that is accurate, I added a new larger battery for a mere $8 inc. Shipping)
The one negative: Could use a color screen (looking at photos in B&W sucks)
What I DONT need:
Recording voice
FM radio (it SUCKS. That is WHY I got an iPod)
Video
#4: mostly because art is everywhere.
...
3 buttons or 4, no one had any trouble identifying the icon, right?
"Halfway decent interface? Show me a player with a better interface that can be effortlessly controlled with one finger/thumb."
Karma for the win. More efficient, easier to use, and more options.
To Trevor

Almost any mp3 player can do this.
20Gb or more
Almost any mp3 player has a model with storage capacity up to 40 gigs
Firewire interface (for lots of large art files)
Even for large files, USB 2.0 is pretty fast. Unless you are a secret agent and need to transfer data as fast as possible, because the guys with guns are about to enter the room, then I think USB 2.0 is sufficient.
Uses iTunes for music interface
Everyone always wants itunes compatibility. Problem is that Apple isn't going to do that. Also in my opinion, drag and drop is much better than having to use software to add music to an mp3 player. Take 15 minutes to organize your music manually and you will have a much better experience. Oh, wait... ipods can't do that. Right.
Less than $250
I can think of quite a few mp3 players that are less than $250. My iriver h320 was only $215. Oh and the ipod is $299 for 20 GB. Sorry.
20+ hours battery life (yes, that is accurate, I added a new larger battery for a mere $8 inc. Shipping)
My iriver h320 gets 16 hours of battery life. If you wanted to you could replace the battery for a better one, although you would have to take it apart yourself. I know ipods don't have removable batteries, but they might sell a different model with a better battery. I don't know.
The one negative: Could use a color screen (looking at photos in B&W sucks)
Almost all newer mp3 players come with a color screen now.
What I DONT need:
Recording voice
FM radio (it SUCKS. That is WHY I got an iPod)

Now I know you dont care about those features, but some do. I doubt that anyone wants to have to carry around bulky accessories for their player. The ipod does have the most accessories than any other mp3 player, but a lot of those accessories are due to how little the ipod offers in features.
is the iriver 320 still being made? its not on the iriver web site as a model for sale.
