FxBalléry's Ref Projet 12, up/down lamp
Practicality be damned in the charming modern living space—FxBalléry's altitude-based Ref Projet 12 lamp runs rup
and down on its post—the higher you set it, the brighter the light. Quite possibly the most perfect designer prop for a
peeler we've yet laid eyes on. See also the effervescent
balloon lamp, and the rather adorable
Gravity Lamp.

The lamp is cool - would be cooler to operate with a remote control though.
not stupid enough to be funny, yet still very stupid.
if you guys are looking for stupid design ideas, just cruise freshmen design classes. they are full of garbage like this.
I've seen my fair share of student industrial design, 42, and it usually doesn't touch this kind of thing. Care to troll elsewhere?
Best,
Ryan
How do I buy one? (I'm serious).
Y'know, with just a little modification, this thing would be perfect for strip clubs...
In other words, the taller you are, the brighter your world will be.
While on the topic, how long do you think till we'll have safe and effective plastic surgery that can make people taller? (without making them look out or proportions or screw them completely like some current methods)
Who ever design this probably been to a strip join too many times.
Rup and down? Raggggy? RUH ROH!
Ryan,
In what way does student industrial design not touch this kind of thing, in how silly it is? Having attended two design schools and visited many, many more, I can assure you that first year design students can be quite silly. It takes them usually a year or two to work this stuff out of their systems.
Or does it not not touch it in its uniqueness? If this is your meaning, then you need to see more student work. Students routinely come up with way out stuff that puts this thing to shame (at least at the good schools).

42,
Don't have time to go through the rigamaroll over this stuff with every commenter on Engadget, but you have an opinion that's different than mine--totally fine, just be upright about it, and don't troll. First post: bad; second post: ok.
Best, Ryan
