The Monitor Audio i-deck iPod Music System
We've seen iPod speaker systems come and go (mostly go), and it's pretty fair to say at this point that if you're
going to bring one to market, it's got to stand out from the rest. Sure, i-deck's iPod Music System might not trump
Ignitek's Judge Reinhold-size iCarrier speaker cab, but
at least it does come in the surprisingly spacially inefficient shape of a parallelogram. And yes, it's also going to
set you back a couple hundred bucks.

I think I just might have to get one. I mean, the people on they're website look like they're having fun.
Judge Reinhold, eh? Going back in the time machine for that one. ("Judge freaking Reinhold" would have garnered equal praise...)
Ugly. Better off taking that couple hundred bucks and investing it in an actual stereo.
While the design won't win any awards, Monitor's speakers are great. If this is anything like their other products, it'll be the best of the iPod systems by far.
To be honest, I don't even think the colours of the i-deck really blend well with the iPod. They've just got to come to terms with the fact that iPod speakers don't sell. And whilst I'm at it with this ipod thing: get a Hi-MD Walkman, you fashion obsessive homosapiens!
I heard through the grapevine that this thing sounds the business. Monitor Audio make great speakers that sound fantastic. Most other iPod gadget/speaker makers don't know about sound, these guys have been making high-end hi-fi for something like 35 years.
I don't have a proper hi-fi and anyway I have 3,000 song on my pod, not on C.D, so it's on my list of toys.
A mate of mine bought one of these from the web (www.i-deck.com) and I have just listened to it. Sounds fantastic, goes really loud but I was blown away by the clarity and detail. Prompted me to check out the Monitor Audio site to see who they are. Seems they are a pretty serious hi-fi outfit which would explain the great sound.
They look pretty good too.
