32-inch HD LCD under a grand from Sampo
At $999, you just might want to pick up two of these 32-inch HDTVs from Sampo. This is the MX-32x3 model, which Sampo sells under their Maxent brand. So what do you get for a grand? How about 1366 x 768 resolution which provides a 720p picture?
The MX-32x3 offers an 800:1 contrast ratio and various inputs: DVI with HCMP support, composite and S-Video, but no HDMI. An NTSC tuner is built in, but for high-definition you'll have to add your own digital tuner. It's not top of the line by any means, but for someone looking to upgrade to a digital-ready, widescreen set, this would fit the bill.
