Go retro with the Imsai Series Two

If you're into retro computing — and we mean really retro — then you're going to
have to pick up the Imsai Series Two. A reproduction of the Imsai 8080, circa 1975 — all the way down to its
bright orange and blue buttons — the Series Two is produced by Fischer-Freitas Co., which was founded in 1978 by
two Imsai employees and later bought the rights to the product. Some modern features have been added, including a USB
port, and slots for an ATX motherboard and hard drive, so you can use the box as a modern PC as well. Not bad for $995,
though you can still sometimes pick up an original Imsai (of which only about 20,000 were ever made) for about the same
on eBay.

Some 1970's nerd found this in their closet and now they expect to get $900 for it.
Isn't Ebay grand?
aw shucks, #2 you beat me to it. i was gonna say "now i can hack into the WHOPPER"
What er all those flippy switches for ... xD
Jonathan the Bad Sunglasses Wearing Asian Fetish Republican,
Seriously, man, you are so out of it. First of all, there's no apostrophe in 1970s (it's not a possesive), and second of all, do you have any concept of value? A rare piece of history, only 20,000 made, and you don't think it's worth anything?
How much did you spend on your rims for your Escalade?
You know what, actually? I think I might be getting fooled. The more I look at Jonathan N.'s webpage, the more I'm thinking this is a parody site. This guy can't possibly be real.
Jonathan N the registered REPUBLICAN:
You boviously don't know your computer history. I bet you take computers for granted.
Anyway, computers like the Imsai and Altair were very important steps in developing the computer we have today. They are worth a lot more than just a $ value. BTW there is an Altair on ebay for $700 right now. These computers played a very important role in computer history. Without them we would have, well, not anything we have today. You would be typing you crappy comment on a typewriter.
FORGIVE ME IF THIS POSTED TWICE!
I was going to slam “John N” for making such an arrogant, ignorant and disrespectful post. I was so relived to read the other loyal informed Engadget readers who put this man in his place! I collect vintage hardware as a hobby, and would kill to own one of the original Imsai or ALTAIR machines…heck I would just be happy to own an S-100 bus card.
John N post should be seen a sacrilege!
