Netgear's MBR814 Flash-OFDM Mobile Router
It's not entirely the same as some of the EV-DO WiFi routers we've seen, but Netgear's MBR814 is kinda close in
concept, and so far it's among the first commercial consumer-available WiFi routers we've seen featuring a wireless
broadband backhaul. Granted, the technology is Flarion's FLASH-OFDM, so uplink coverage is extremely limited in the
states (last we heard Nextel was toying around with it), but Qualcomm's Flarion acquisition earlier this month will
ensure that there are at least a few places abroad this thing'll be useful for awhile in.

To my knowledge Flarion doesn't have any US coverage. The Nextel trial ended as soon as talks between Sprint and Nextel began. I'm waiting for GSM carriers like Cingular and T-Mobile to buy into this b/c they pretty much don't have any 3G technology in place to compete against EV-DO.

Does anyone know if a router is made that takes pcmcia cards for EVDO, EDGE, UMTS. A router that might have 2 slots so you could combine the bandwidth of 2 cards and broadcast it via wifi? Just wondering, I could use one.
