O2 getting Samsung's 3GB i300 musicphone
We haven't heard a damn thing yet about this phone making an appearance Stateside, but the Inq says that it looks like UK carrier O2 is going to be getting the SGH-i300, that new music-centric Windows Mobile-powered Smartphone from Samsung with the 3GB hard drive. Sounds like they're going to be selling it for around £80 with contract, not sure whether O2 will be limiting users' ability to sync the phone with a PC — though we really hope not, since it'd be mighty expensive to load a 3GB drive up with pricey wireless downloads. (And yes, there's been an almost unreasonable amount of Windows Mobile-related news lately.)

SHINY. PRETTY COLORS. WINDOWS MOBILE.
I must have one. It just looks cool.
we don't need an iTunes phone. Moto and Apple waited so long that now the competition has better products, and Apple doesn't even have theirs yet!
disabled functionality to sync with the pc will be undermined with flashes/flexes to the phone's firmware.
Shouldn't Samsung have giving itself that big discount on that 4GB flash memory and throw it into the phone instead of HDD?
looks great. and since it has windows it should work with the subcription services. i just hope sound quality is good and the camera takes reasonable pictures.
whoa?! Finally a white girl instead of the usual asian Samsung models.
Yes, there's been TOO MUCH Windows coverage lately. Why there must have been 3 or 4 stories out of the last 100. You know what we REALLY need now? How about yet ANOTHER useless iPod-freak'n accessory? Maybe a gay tote bag or gay looking recharging station. Oh wait, all iPod accessories are very gay, so really, there's no need to be specific. My bad.
mmm...One thing’s for sure: my current phone is old, tired, and dumb. It’s time to upgrade!
Excuse me, but do you come with the cellphone?
Excuse me, but do you come with the cellphone?
depends what she does with it ;)
I'm sure that O2 won't restrict this phone in any way.
Generally O2 in the UK, don't add or remove anything to their phones (apart from a theme or screensaver). Almost all of their contract phones come unlocked too.
Not sure about the i300. I'll probably just wait for the Nokia N91, because it has wifi, an extra GB of space and uses the superior Symbian operating system.
dude #3 your right about the memory, but either way i am getting this phone
I have just called O2uk and this phone is being released on there network on the 7th Nov (just in time for my upgrade!)
They have no comment on price yet. . any ideas ?
Its cool about the release date; the big question is what they have done with the battery life. It only ran for 2 hours on mobile-reviews, er, review, whilst playing MP3s from the hard disc. That is seriously craptastic performance. If they haven't sorted the battery life, then its a majorly doomed product.
