We're scratching our heads over whether there's a huge demand for this but you know, it's not like we've run any focus groups on it or anything. The iRiver H10 5Go Pure is just the ol' H10, but sans FM radio. The result is a cheaper player at 229 euro/$282 US. There ya go, cheapskates, don't say iRiver never gave ya nothin'.
if i were to ever leave the ipod camp i would have one of these. well not one of these. the one with the tuner. theyre slick.

The Google Ad says otherwise - £134 with radio, £156 without. ;-)
Saying that, I'd pay £22 NOT to have the radio built in, unless they stick a DAB one in.
i didnt like the control of it, but i played with it for 5 minutes at best buy, and owners seem to like it so im sure its okay, but how much does an FM radio cost? really.
I've never understood the obsession of having a tuner in a DAP? Isn't that the whole point of having one, to AVOID radio? I owned an iRiver iHP-120 before I got my iPod. I never used the radio a single time.
As far as I know, the import-taxes in europe are a bit higher for devices with a builtin radio. That's why all the new iRiver flashplayers (T10, T20, T30) will have FM Radios everywhere outside europe, but not in europe.
The radio is a very nice feature to have. I don't own anything from iRiver but I do own the Creative MuVo Micro which does include an FM tuner. I have used it many times to see whether school was closed for the day and it is nice to be exposed to other music from time to time when i'm not near a computer that would allow me to use my internet radio. I'm not saying every player MUST come with an FM tuner, I'm just saying it's nice to have as an option.

I like having the radio there. Quite often I want something to keep me from being bored, but I'm not in the mood for any of my music. So: national and local news, current affairs, cultural discussion, radio dramas, sports news and fixtures, traffic news.. yes, radio is quite indispensible to me.

EXACTLY! my friend bought an h10 from italy, and the only 5gb model available there is this 5gb PURE model, which doesnt have th efm radio... which i think is retarded, cos noone ever said to him that it didnt have one... really quite stupid.. i really doubt the omission of radio antenna etc can result in a large price difference!!

There is no point whatsoever to have a radio in one of these things. I would prefer mine not to have one. Just knowing that crap is in there makes me sick to my stomach.
