HTC Universal/MDA Pro hits Germany later this week

We're still fairly certain that the HTC Universal isn't going to be sold over here in the States (at least not the UMTS version), but we have some good news for any of our German readers who have been lusting after this monster of a Pocket PC Phone: starting on Thursday you'll be able to pick up the new phone, which as being sold as the "MDA Pro", from T-Mobile Germany. Retail price will be a hefty €749.95 without a contract, or between €430 and €500 depending on what kind of two year service agreement you sign up for.

It still amazes me how quick HTC is able to get to market with these devices. Firms like Nokia and SE can take up to a year to get phones on the shelves, but HTC has really perfected things.

They probably dont feel the need to sell it over here in the US due to the amazing HP IPaq 6315... oh wait... that thing sucks... about the only thing i can get to work on it is Solitare... nevermind.

The reason they seem to get theirs out fast is probably because they keep there products under wraps better. It makes sense considering that they are way the heck over in Taiwan and not many people have heard of them. Also, they are in very close with microsoft, so they can be very up to date on the new technologies.

So I guess what I meant was, yes, they rock!!

Found this link embedded in a DigiTimes (www.digitimes.com)bulletin I get everyday. This is a Taiwan based news source so I thought it might be of interest. Didn't see a mention of the GPS feature in any of the other stuff, this is new, I think.
