Live shots of the Sony Ericssion P950 aka the Hermione?

The mystery man or woman who's been collecting info, tips, and rumors about the Sony Ericsson P950 finally got the guts to post up those images they had of what is supposedly a prototype of the new smartphone. Nobody seems to know for sure whether or not these pics are the real deal, but all those threatening letters we've received from Sony Ericsson's attorneys make us think that we're on to something. Somebody over there is not at all pleased that these pics have surfaced, and usually companies don't get all pissy over fakes.

Or maybe you haven't hit it big, but you've acquired a cult following. Mark my words, Sony Ericsson will be the next Apple of the Mobile Phone world.

You're right about the Lawyer thing, but if I were the guy who's hand is in the photo I'd be checking out ticket prices to some warm, comfortable non-extradition country ;-)
It looks like an engineering prototype before the designers add the pretty plastic shells and stuff.
looks totally real. doesn't look fake at all. the camera blur is hard to get perfectly right in photoshop.. this one has depth and subtle details that would take a lot longer than most people would spend on a fake prototype spy picture.
The rubber band is concealing the carrier's logo so that the source won't get sued for violating the NDA.

why do these crazy gadget guys, who get all these super early prototype, whom are probably very fluent in all things gadgetry to get the privilage of getting these early... im rambling, my question is... why dont they get a goddam good camera? i could buy a camera for 50 bucks that takes way better pictures than these, geezus fucken hell...
my last post was a joke, this is obviously fake, at least most of it is. it probably started as a legit photo of a p910. the 'rubber band' is concealing the seam that he got when he cut and pasted the keyboard from a p910. the only part that has somewhat believable lighting is the closed flip... that's suspicious...

Looks as big, clunky, ugly, lame, and non-functional as the original old school Qualcomm/Palm smartphone.

looks like another dead weight like the P910 - great specs on paper, dire execution in reality.
ugly, but not too big. Unless the guy is And?he Giant's twin brother, this handest is not much bigger than a Nokia 6680. It will be much easier to use without the flip since the keyboard is on phone. If the display is still touch-sensitive, this should be a really good phone / PDA.

You must have gotten a bum unit because the P910 is the best cellphone I've ever used (over a 13 year period).
Hope the 950 is just as good.
Finally! This is extremely sweet - enough to bring me out of cyber-hibernation. If it's anywhere near as good as it looks, it's MINE.
Well, I know some of you are thinking this is ugly, but if it has the specs it's rumored to have, then this may just replace my P900. I will say one thing: I've owned a P800 and a P900 and I found them to both be very, very strong devices with very few faults. If the P950 has wifi, gets iSync support from Apple and sees an update for Salling Clicker (and the latter two are rather likely), it's mine. :)

If it's true SE should save money on lawyers and instead hire some more engineers to speed up the release. Lawyers are not productive

The closed flip pix is real, the open flip is fake, the keyboard is not below the screen.
Clearly a fake! Why would they else smooth the part over the keyboard?
But the Illustrator pic we first saw could be the real deal...

the p800/900/910 etc. is awful and the phone i had (p900) was rubbish and a poor phone and poor PDA

i could forgive the size but the general stupidity and rubbishness of the phone was awful
the only good thing was the 5 way scroll wheel which clever but apart from that - an expensive paperweight
i have been put of smartphones now - just get a decent phone and a decent PDA
You talkeda bout this on your podcast and pronounced the name incorrectly so I just wanted to clarify...Hermoine is prounounced HER-MY-A-NEE if you say it fast it's HER-MY-NEE. She's a Harry Potter character...

I think it looks a bit bulky (If it is real - that double-flip would add some chunk, surely?)but the feature spec is impressive (If true), and I'm glad it doesn't run Windows (2 months of SPV M500 have taught me my lesson). Please let that be a huge 262,000 color OLED screen!

Have you ever handled a smartphone? They are quite heavy when it comes to cell phone standards, putting a keyboard on the lighter side of a hinge, especially when you factor in how much the heavy end of the phone would bounce and shake from using both hands to type on the keyboard, it'd just make for a loose, squeeky hinge and faster breakdown of the phone.
#29 I agree having used the p910 for ages the querty keyboard on the the back of the flip is virtually useless this is way better. I had read elsewhere that the keyboard would be below the screen so this adds up.

I think we must just wait The Smartphone Show 2005 witch will be held from the 11-12th October in the Excel Centre, London.
witch will show All About Symbian Smartphone for up to 12 months ,so We can only hope that Hermione aka the P950 will show up too.

Well great, but the phone should be named Sony Ericsson P990. Cuse the pic up there looks alot like that one.
