The Tuny8
Wasn't aware that there was even that much of a market for the
Olympus m:robe MR-100, let
alone for a knock-off, but check out Dyne Telecom's eerily familiar new Tuny8 MP3 player. The two players might bear a
certain, uh, resemblance to each other, but it's all on surface: whereas the MR-100 can only play music and has a 5GB
hard drive and a monochrome display, the Tuny8 can play video (it supports MPEG4, WMV, ASF, and AVI formats), comes in
128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB versions, and has a 1.6-inch, 160 x 128 pixel, 260K color LCD screen.

It looks like a knockoff. If I saw someone with it, not even knowing about the m-robe, I'd know it's a knockoff. It's ugly.

This device is very interesting! But I don't remember: can it receive TV signals? Has it IR and Bluetooth?

#1 How exactly does it look like a knockoff??
ST @ Dec 19th 2005 12:19AM
It's a knockoff because it's an MP3 player. Anything that is an MP3 player is a knockoff of the iPod.

are you serious #4 i guess u didnt know mp3's exsisted b4 the ipod showd up, only things the ipod did that was any diffrent was just add a 1, 2, 5, 20gb, ect. drive and oooooo amazing (cough)easy touch button, i mean i dont dislike it but its not a knock off, ipod just took the mp3 player and is trying to make the better, and this Tuny8 is just trying to do the same....
