The Pet Phone remote food dispenser
No, it's not a phone for your pet Mr. Sillypants — you don't
really think someone would manufacture a pet cellphone do
ya!? Oh right, this is Japan we're talking 'bout. Anywho, the Pet Phone is primarily a cell phone controlled remote
feeder for pets who enjoy the hard kibble variety of pet food and the occasional chat with their owner through built-in
speakers and microphone. Just slap a few keys on your cellphone while making your clandestine ferret rendezvous and out
drop those glorious bits of galloping foodstuffs. Little Licky Puppy will be none the wiser.

This reminds me of the ISeePet, another japenese cration which is a pet feeder with a webcam attached to it, you connect the ethernet port to your LAN which has an internet connection and you can check on your pet over the Internet. I assume they can view video over the internet with a mobile phone in Japan anyway.

About 3 years ago, a high school kids in China already invented something similar to this. He tabbed regular phone signal to activate a small solenoid which opens the food dispenser for his fishtank.

But my dog can't read Kanji.

umm, it would be cool if it held dog food, and you could remotely trigger it to feed the dog while your away. I want to build the Make Magizine VCR cat food dispenser, because with that you can program the vcr timer to feed the cat/dog.

Ah ah, it's so cool. My dog would LOVE it... but I should teach him how to use the remote controller!

This is most interesting. I would like to license or market this.
