Hear your golf swing, improve your game

Seems that if you want to make a buck quick, you go after one of three markets: parents, pet owners, or golfers. Now Yale is going for gold with a recent patent filing for Sonic Golf — a real-time biofeedback device for teaching and training golf. The club contains motion detecting sensors which convert the club's speed of travel into an "audio soundscape that is universally intuitive to golfers" — read: "Bill, your beer's ready." A wireless link between the club and computer allows data to be further analyzed later. Cynical as we are, the PGA teaching professionals who have tested this claim that all students improve, some dramatically, after just 20 to 30 minutes — and with lasting effect. Not bad.
