Jackie Chan's XavixPORT
Next Generation released the XavixPORT some time ago in the USA, but they're just now getting around to releasing it in Japan with the help of none other than Jackie Chan. The XavixPORT is a game console that connects to your TV and tracks the movements of various controllers via infrared. In other words, a swing of a golf club-shaped controller could easily be recognized and translated into your character's own golf swing in a video game—yes, we realize how ideal that sounds. Shipping with the XavixPORT are two games: a boxing simulator called "Power Boxing" and "Aero Step," a fitness game. Upcoming titles include Tennis and Bowling. What, no version of Jackie Chan's Death Defying Stuntman?

The XavixPORT will totally pwn the Revolution, Xbox 360 and PS3.

"infrared" - how retro.

So its a whole console based on PS2s crappy eyetoy games?

OMG! Everybody else is going to be owning the next-gen consoles but i'm going to own a next-next-gen console!
I'm going to buy like, ten of those.
I'll be the coolest guy in the universe.

I know this doesn't seem great, but if Jackie Chan told me I should watch an 8 hour version of "Uncle Wiggly and the Runaway Cheese," I'd do it. He's just that cool.
Before you respond, go watch the classic "Rumble in the Bronx" and see if you don't agree with me.

The Xavix games are kinda fun, but honestly it's more fun to beat people over the head with the baseball bat than it is to play the game.
I've played the baseball and tennis, never opened the bowling one.. and when I was selling them, there weren't the boxing or other games available. Boxing might be a good one.
The system has some good potential for input devices, but the graphics are a generation or two behind. If it was CHEAP as HELL i'd buy one...

"Rumble In The Bronx"!?! Jackie Chan has done better work (though didn't catch on in the U.S.). Check out The Young Master, Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, The Young Master and Drunken Master. I've been following his career since I was 15 (now 40); the man is simply amazing, being able to survive his onw stunts and staying in great shape. My favorite is Police Story.
Anyway, I want to see one of his titles (or Jet Li) before buying this thing. Besides, my wife will kill me!
