World's smallest and lightest DVD±R/RW burner
Panasonic lays down a new record for the world's smallest and lightest DVD±R/RW DL burner with their announcement of the "LF-P876C." Although most of us who wanted a DVD burner probably already have one, the P876C still manages to bring home the bacon with a thickness of just over half an inch. Throw any sort of blank DVD or CD you want in there — it supports writing to DVD±R, DVD±RW, DVD±R DL, DVD-RAM, CD-R, and CD-RW. Like most portable burners these days, it also operates off either USB bus power or an AC adapter. Expect this one to set you back roughly $285.

I love Panasonic/Matsushita.
I've always had a good experience with Panasonic products. And if this is the kind of product that is actually VERY portable, then it could really work wonders for those who do IT work.
If I weren't a cheap college student, I would definintely buy one of these. They are incredible!
I have mixed feelings about Panasonic. On the one hand, we have a 21 yo microwave from them that still works and cooks our food for us. On the other hand, I wondered how "brilliant" their engineers were after they put a photo viewer function on a plasma display. I thought the whole reason video games warned us of pausing our games for long periods of time is that a lot of TVs (such as plasma TVs) were subject to image burn.
However, this seems like a cool product and if I had a need for a portable DVD burner, I would probably put this on my Christmas Wishlist.
