iSound PSP Pro lets you dock your PSP
Sure, we know what that second P in PSP stands for. But sometimes we'd like to be able to take advantage of the PSP's audio and video functions while we're not on the move. You know how we do. So, we like the fact that PSP docks are starting to hit the market, complete with all the usual features you'd expect from such base stations, including speakers, chargers, and, of course, color coordination. The iSound PSP Pro (yes, we know its name is a throwback to accessories for another portable device) is a $50 base with speakers, a bass boost button, a black finish and a carrying case, just in case you want to exercise that second P and bring this along for the ride.

Is it "base" or "bass"?
now if only PSP has GPS module for sale, I'd so put this in my car for the time being. And with movies and other A/V capabilities, I think this is a quick and easy solution to ease the pain on some of the long road trips.
"a base boost button" does this make your base bigger or somthing?
(bass is low frequency, base is the stand)
-all your base are belong to us
Anyone else think this makes your PSP look like 'Johny 5'?

movie: short circuit
Maybe it doesn't matter too much with these kind of small speakers, but does the fact that you connect via the mini headphone jack diminsh the quality in comparison to the iPod's dock connector?
iIs ianyone ielse itired iof ithe iI's ibefore ievery iproduct ithat icomes iout?
I don't believe the quality will be anything near an iPod docked in, let's say, a Bose Sound dock. I have a mate who has one and isn't really impressed.
so lemmy get this strait....
this $50 item gives DS quality sound to a sucky $250 system that you can't use for more than 3 hours.
oh well, you sony fanboys have it like you prefer it, usless
PS. iOUT

Is there such a thing as a simple charging station with no speakers?
#5 ALIVE!!!
-all your base are belong to us.
this makes me pee, just a little, every time i read it. what post is it originally from?
It's originally from the vido game 'Zero Wing'. It is the result of a poor translation from Japanese to english.

It's been amusing geeks for YEARS...
Why doesn't this sync as well? None of the docs for PSP sync..Whats up with that?
#7, knot_U - I assume you are unable to afford a PSP, and hence you have never tried one. You can easily get 4 hours playing games without recharging. Furthermore, if you use it only for music capability, a lot of the internals can go to sleep - 10 hour battery life easy.
How do you play a handheld for more than 4hours at a time? My fingers hurt so bad after playing for an hour and this is because of how crappy the handling of handhelds are.
This device is utterly useless! i mean.. WTF!? What practical purpose does this thing holds? There is no purpose besides wasting $50 on something other than a game for your psp! Ignore this product! If you want speakers or high quality sound either jack it in your surroundsound system or buy surroundsound earphones! You can't even play with this device its pointless!
I could maybe see slapping this badboy up on a desktop to watch some movies.. Maybe while you're at work or something, though you should be working. (because slackers go to hell)
Does this thing even charge the psp battery?
LogiTech's PlayGear AMP is about the same price, and doesn't have that trendy lowercase "i" at the beginning of it's name.
#12 bazald I'll have you know that if I wanted to I could buy 2 PSPs, and yes I have played my friends PSP and it stunck.
Good ridence

"What practical purpose does this thing holds?"
(Though admitedly not designed by Sony) It fuels Sony's dream of the PSP being some kind of "end all, be all" GENERAL media (and perhaps productivity) device. I think they envision people eventually eschewing all kinds of competeing products and ultimately owning JUST a PSP (or it's descendant). Music, movies, games, internet, and in the future maybe 'Office' style applications...all from your PSP. It's already got portability, but I think this dock is designed to make the PSP more suitable for stationary use (obviously).
Kinda stupid IMHO considering the PSP is ~$250 and a cheap laptop costs ~$500 and does virtually EVEYTHING better (movies, music, internet, productivity) EXCEPT play games. I begin to agree that the direction both Sony and the accessory designers/manufacturers should be going in is enhancing the PSP's gaming experience, and not trying to get it to do more ancillary stuff.
Personally I think the Archos PMA400 is closer to that ideal, and better suited for an accessory like this. With it's big internal hdd, good screen, wifi, browser, keyboard support, and Qtopia OS (meaning it can run all kinds of progams...even a few games)...I think IT is a much more effective 'Jack-of-all-trades'.
But that's just me...
I brought this thing because I wanted something that woudl hold my psp upright to watch movies at my desk and to listen to music on something that's small enuff to fold up and in a desk (cleaning staff steals stuff occasionally). The sound quality is good enuff for an office system cuz your not going to be rockin out in an office anyway, I like it. The only thing i wish it had was speaker grills cuz those shinny cones do look dumb
