Stash your plasma in a fake fireplace
If you're really into hiding your
investment in a plasma set, you might as well go all the way and stick it in a really tacky fake fireplace. The
Plasma TV Fireplace from the U.K.'s Picture House is a remote-controlled electric fireplace with cheesy "flame effects"
and a fan that forces heat out in an attempt to mimic a real fireplace. The remote also controls the motorized lift
that pops the plasma set out of the top of the mantle. We have to admit, this has a certain 60s bachelor-pad style to
it; if Austin Powers had a plasma set, he probably would have hidden it in one of these — or more likely, he would have
tried, and would've ended up toasting it in a real fireplace instead.

What is the link to the companies website? I want one of these.
A friend of mine has her plasma hanging over her fireplace. Apparently it is a major fengshui no-no. Too much "yang" energy in one place. She has circumvented this by putting two (rather ugly but balancing "yin") kirin sculptures in the coal grate...
Can you say tacky? I love how years ago everyone wanted these flat screens on their walls, oh how cool it would look. Now everyone wants to hide them. Stick a picture frame on it and be done with it. Fake fireplaces never looked good and this looks even worse.
Nothing says "class" like a plasma tv popping out of your fake fireplace.
"Hey sweet-thang, check out my plasma TV!", He exclaims.
"Oh my, that is so awesome", she replies. "But, wait a minute, is that a fake fireplace it's coming out of!? You are so dreamy..."
It would be even classier if, when in the down position, you could see the screen... Then all you would need is a dvd looped with a fake fireplace scene... ah yes... class indeed.
I want a fireplace hidden in my fake plasma. That's nog class, it's art!
Unfortunatly, these style fireplaces are all to common in the UK, most don't have plasma TV's secreted inside them, but I'll check mine when I get home just in case.
