Bose wall/ceiling speakers, 230SQ and 230TR
We've yet to see Bose announce these stateside (or anywhere besides Japan), but here are two new wall/ceiling-mounted speaker sets from the company. The "230SQ" (top) features a thickness of 2.67 inches (68mm) and uses Bose's own "Acoustic Wave Guide Technology" to accurately reproduce bass while maintaining such a low profile. It also includes mounting hardware for either the wall or the ceiling, so at least you've got options.
The "230TR" (bottom) doesn't provide the same option — it's a "ceiling only" model, yet can be mounted on ceilings that are as thin as 1/5th of an inch. Don't ask us where you can find such a ceiling, but at least you now have a speaker should you find one. Bose supposes this model might be used for emergency broadcasts, rather than something like a home theater system.
