Plant Watcher monitors moisture levels, waters plants
Kristofer Vahlstrom's Plant Watcher simply senses when your foliage needs more moisture and waters your plants accordingly from a built-in container (which looks a bit like an IV bag from here). Collectively personally responsible for hundreds of plants, our MO to date was hiring ever-more interns to mind the Engadget greenhouse; looks like we can finally automate the whole process and send those lazy students back to Lincoln Tech where they belong.

The water level monitor has been around for years to the DIY circuit crowds. It simply uses two probes set in the soil that measure the level of the water's resistance.

So let me get this straight. Instead of having to worry about making sure my plant has water, I have to instead make sure this thing's IV bag has water? Genius!

Nice but i think this is just a design CONCEPT...not that it would be hard to build, i just don't think they've built it...
