Sony's Vaio FJ laptop
Just when we thought their late summer
Vaio-volley was complete, Sony's announced a
laptop for those a little displeased that Sony's would-be Powerbook competitor, the FS, is a little too large or
unwieldy. Your new thinner-looking mid-range option, the 4.8-pound FJ, sports a 14.1-inch 1280 x 768 widescreen XBRITE
display, Intel Pentium M, 802.11b/g, dual-layer DVD±R/W, SATA drive support, and (finally) DDR2 SDRAM. We don't know
how much it's going to go for or exactly how thin it actually happens to be, but we do know we're already kind of
missing that SD slot Sony's been putting in
their Vaios lately, as well as that 15.4-inch display.
[Thanks, Stan]

kinda looks like the fujitsu laptops... but sonies are good.
It doesn't look too bad, I'm tempted I am...
I think it looks very, very nice. It's no powerbook tho.
I am a Sony obsessive.....and I need a new laptop.... I was going to get the X505, but it just wasn't what I had in mind, anyway....this is something I am very tempted to buy, I want a laptop for college rather than my hugh but powerful Sony GRX series I have had for a good while....(2 years I think). I also get discount in the Sony Centre as I have contacts there....WOOOooo, One thing, an SD slot??? SHOCK! I would have never thought I would see the day that a Sony product would have anything other than a MS.
It just looks like a narrower FS series.. I wouldn't sell my FS690 for this...

How come one shot has the built-in camera above the display, and the other shot doesn't?
I love sony so much, but when are they going to make Tablet PCs! I would love having Xbrite on a Tablet PC, as long as it has great battery life.
If this had discrete graphics in the form of the X600/X700/GeForce 6600, I would buy it in a second.
when's it being released in the U.S.?
i love sony as a product.
