Xbox 360 launch date is November 22

Well, it's finally official. Mark your calendars for November 22 here in the U.S., December 2 in Europe, and December 10 in Japan for the hat trick release of the Xbox 360. The console's price in Japan will be ¥37,900, which is the equivalent of about $342 USD, and will net gamers the core system as well as a detachable 20GB hard drive and these bundled extras: Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, an Xbox 360 Media Remote control, an Xbox 360 Headset, a Component HD-AV Cable for connecting to component and composite television inputs, an Ethernet cable, and batteries. Let the speculation… end.

Only interested enough this time around to write this useless post... not interested enough to actually buy on launch day.

Maybe in a year or so, once the obligatory exploding power supplies have been recalled and replaced, MS has settled on one standard package that includes an HD-DVD drive (or equivalent), and there's a decent game library out there...

It's not a big surprise, since the XBox was not a big success in Japan, and Kaplan claims that M$ is very much irrelevant in the Japanese market. With the highly U.S.-ified lineup both for the original Xbox and for the initial outlook for the X360, no wonder they'd price the console lower than they do here.

I'm with 'Jeff'. Never really felt the 'Launch Day Madness' most people do. A year from now the price will be down, reviews will be in and even a few second hand games will likely be floating around (especially since they're supposed to be more expensive this gen, more gamers will have to trade up to fuel futher game acquisitions).

Plus, if the 360 doesn't prove to be stellar over the course of a year, I'll be able to put those funds towards a PS3...

(Or more likely just upgrade my PC...)

Being an early adopter only means a lot to the really hardcore.. (another pre-requisite is being <89 years old) Sometimes, it's a privilege (which comes at a price).

If they delay it to about March like they did last time with the Xbox 1, then there's no hope of it competing with the much more technically superior PS3.

From the reports, it's looking like the "rushed to market" factor is about the only thing going for Xbox 360 in the US + Europe, and they won't have that in Australia. It will be interesting to see how this is reflected in marketshare in a year's time.

My money's on the better product, the PS3.

Oh come off it. The 360 and ps3 will be so close you can't tell the difference in graphics. It's simple. Both will be able to handle at least 500 million polygons. This enough to mimick reality. It doesn't matter howmany polygons you can pump after that because you CAN'T tell. Not even on a high end pc monitor.

Microsoft are supervising the shipping in batches of 1500 and I can confirm that we have 1500 units confirmed for deliverey to the UK before launch date.

Minimum order is 500 units UK or 1500 US

Orders of 1500 units or more in any format can be supplied at $305 each including Shipping or Collection from our US Distribution Centre.

yes the xbox is better then the ps3, but only in specific fields...graphics cards are mostly the same gforce for ps3 and ati for xbox, ram is the same ect, so pretty mush the only thing that beats xbox it that ps3 can have upto 7 wireless controllers...im just SO PISSED that im in australia and cant get it until about march :"(
