LaCie intros credit-card-sized Carte Orange USB keys
Bright and colorful, LaCie's new credit-card-sized Carte Orange (or "orange card" for you Francophobes) USB keys deliver a heaping portion of portable storage at very reasonable prices. These USB 2.0-compatible devices come in 4GB and 8GB flavors, and are available immediately from the LaCie website for $100 and $150, respectively. Niceties include a retractable USB cable and plug-and-play capability for newer machines. We can't recommend, however, following LaCie's suggestion to store these delicate electronics in your wallet, although we certainly can't fault them for trying to speed up that whole planned obsolescence thing.

Very cool. 8GB is just the right size for obvious reasons ;) I've just ordered one. One correction to the article, though - La Cie is still taking Pre Orders, so it's not quite available yet.
why would you spend $150 on 8GBs?
i just bought a firefly 60GB for +/- $100 from best buy.
DAMN!!! 8GB for $150?! I'm confused, this isn't flash is it!?
Yea that price is pretty amazing, especially as I am pretty sure that the 8 gig drive just became available relatively recently
"Carte Orange" (orange card) is the name of the monthly subway / bus pass card in Paris.
This must mean something. Like maybe it's a little smelly, but moves massive quantities quickly and efficiently.

Firefly is based on the 2.5" drive, which is common in laptops. This is based on the 1" drive (Microdrive), which is used in things like DAP and cameras. This is a pretty big difference in portability (i.e. pocketability) - especially with the USB cable built-in.
You guys need to check out the two following articles and tell me what you think:

The first one was posted today and the second one was posted yesterday. Apparently the same device went from being a flash drive to a hard drive in a day. It's a miracle!! They just acted like the second article didn't exist.
