GammaMaster watch sports built-in Geiger counter
Unlike the
Active Reactor Radio Active wristwatch, which only
pretends to detect radiation levels, the GammaMaster from GammaWatch includes a fully-functioning Geiger counter to
keep you safe after the Commies drop The Big One. Predetermined, user-defined thresholds let the watch know how much
radiation you think you can handle before it's time to give a warning. For those who will be traversing in and out of a
hot zone, the watch measures both single-dose gamma ray levels as well as cumulative build-up. And to prove that their
product isn't bogus ala some gadgets you might find in the back of Popular Science magazine, GammaWatch thoughtfully
offers to sell you small doses of radioactive material to ensure the accuracy of your $500 investment.

and every commie hating red blooded american should own one.
Somebody should send Elena one ...

This seems like something targeted at dentists, radiologists, scientists etc. Anyone that works with x-rays / radiation alot. I believe currently they have to wear a button on their breast pocket whenever they are going to be working in a radiated environment because they can only be exposed to so much on the job before they break safety precatutions, its like an OSHA regulation.
Or it could be for those wackos that like spelunking in Chernobyl.
Elena won't need one. Her story was deemed a hoax
Man, if this thing was designed better, I would totally buy one!
Too bad.
Too, too bad...
Yeah, I wonder if you get a bulk discount on the "small doses of radioactive material"? Hopefully at least a background check on every 1kg purchase...
What is fake about the Elena story? Do all the pictures of Chernobyl look photoshop'd to you?
Instead of spending a billion on a lost Soviet Uranium bomb, the terrorists can buy 20 of these with their samples for 10 grand and use that as a bomb.
Seriously, that can't be legal. How could they even mail it?
I doubt the USPS likes to ship radioactive material.
The radioactive material they sell you is probably in the form of uranium glass marbles. Also known as vaseline glass. It is glass that has tiny amounts of uranium naturally infused in it. As a side affect of this, it kind of glows green in natural light and bright green under UV. I have a container of 100 such marbles on my desk. They are harmless, I think you'd have to gather more than a million of the marbles in one place to even have a potential personal risk. The radiation level and mineral is far far below any safety or security considerations.
they should issue these to American troops in Iraq. This way if they accidentaly stumble upon those WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, they will know right away.
I feel sorry for those redneck republican conservatives out west. They actually think that saddamn shipped the WMD out by train before america got there.
Radiation Doesn't Kill People; The Government Does.
#10: I'll ignore the flamebait in your post and point out that no one in a combat zone would hear the watch's alarm going off. Also, I doubt that this watch meets MilSpec.
I definitely would want one, not because it is so useful, but it's kind of cool. Sort of an alternative to watches with pulse counter for nerds that don't exercise.
Been declared for thinking the stuffs in my flat.Other goverment agencies wouldnt be seen helping.I do want one.
