Vertu's Ascent Motorsport Edition
Nokia may not be making the same cash as they once were, but we have a feeling that if nothing else the margin on
selling a Vertu or two might provide them a slight
bit of saving grace. Their latest to follow the Pink
Edition (featuring a pink leather case) is the Ascent Motorsport Edition, a variation on the classic Ascent with a
"Liquidmetal" alloy and oil-resistant leather case, inlaid with carbon fiber, and produced in a limited run of 997
devices. Yours now for the cost of an organ transplant (or two).

997...
Methinks somebody dropped three chipsets. ;)
I hope Sony Ericsson notices this and gives us something special - like leather and carbon fibre - with the Pxxx.
I just checked out the site and - you know - I was gonna pull the trigger because I need a leather and carbon fibre phone that doesn't do much, has only tri-band support and probably typical Nokia-like 2 hr. talk time. BUT THEY CHARGE EXTRA FOR THE DATA CABLE!!!
No Way!! That's the deal breaker!!!
Geez! All that leather and carbon fibre and I have to buy the cable?
If I get a penny every time I hear somebody bitching about Vertu is overpriced piece of crap, I would be ordering my new CLS 55 today.
The Vertu is not for everybody. Just like full featured smartphone is not for everybody. There are people who are willing to put up with the horrendous Motorola UI for the RAZR, while there are people who would rather carry a bigger brick from Nokia just for the better UI. Different people have different needs.
And guess what? People who can afford a Vertu tends to be people who would pay extra money for an IWC watch over that Timex you are wearing. Whether they are buying it just for showing off, or they appreciate something you don't, that's another story. They have the money, Nokia has the price tag for them. Ain't capitalism grand?

Funny,
I wear an Audemars Piguet, not a Timex and I think that not supplying the data cable on such a beautiful and expensive phone is an insult.
Capitalism IS great!
Awww!!! You can afford a 10k watch and can't afford a computer with Bluetooth? Should we start collecting for your new computer? But wait, we should start collecting for a spare tire for your Zonda F too, right?
Obviously you are NOT what they are after as customer. So they don't really care if you are insulted or not.

These are nice phones I heard, without the extra stuff, it's a good phone that do its job better than others (ie. good reception...etc.) But! the cheapest one is $4500USD! hell... and you have to pay for service too... I wonder if I can get the phone without the "personal assistant" service
Just checked Goldsmiths in the UK - and it costs £5000+ for the Signiture devices - OMFG!!
