The Robone knockoff Robosapien
The Robone. It's a fake Robosapien—or Fauxbosapien, if you will. And you know how the only thing we at Engadget love more than a good gadget, is a good knockoff of one. And this, friends, is a really, really good knockoff.

At least it's no HoboSapien... you know covered in rags and smelling of liquor, belching on command via remote.
Links down, i want to know if you guys are being fesicious.
A buddy of mine gave me one of these for my birthday, it works, but there arent any cool hacks for it, like using your PDA to control it... it's not built as well, I think he paid about $45--- it's got a really lame owner's manual--- Got it in July, I filed it away permanently last week---
Is it just me or does the remote look like it's wearing a banana hammock?
#3 It's just you.
"It’s a fake Robosapien—or Fauxbosapien"
It's a Robofakien!
Robosapien sucks. If robosapien was an actual bipedal robot then yes, it would be a cool little gadget. But all it does is follows your remote given commands and because of that, it is pointless. Waste of $100 if you ask me, and this "sequel" probobly is twice as much.
To think some believe Robosapien is a revolution. If you want to see a revolution go to Japan and buy real robots. Hell, even sony has better consumer bots.
i think we need to give the author some love for "fauxbosapien". it's too bad we will never see this word again; this article will be its mausoleum.
I agree.
Fauxbosapien.
A delicious pun!
I certainly hope we never have another context to use "fauxbosapien" in...
Thanks cuby. At least two of us thought it was clever, hehe.
Well, when the Robosapien 2 comes out this year, eventually someone will make a Fauxbosapien 2. So don't worry. It'll be back.
